Fairphone's next chapter starts now

We’re stepping into 2025 with a big shift—one that goes beyond a new logo and fresh colors. This is a milestone moment, built on more than a decade of learning, growth, and hard work. This rebrand is our long-term promise to you.

When we first launched Fairphone, it was a radical experiment: could a tech company actually prioritize ethics without compromising product quality? More than a decade later, we all know the answer is yes! Our products are proof it can be done; proof that sustainable electronics can thrive right alongside the big tech players. And while we’ve grown, adapted, and faced hard truths along the way, the fact remains: sustainability truly matters, but it’s just the beginning. You deserve devices you can trust, love to use, and can rely on for years. This next chapter is about making sure we deliver on that promise.

Welcome to the new Fairphone

At the heart of our transformation is our design philosophy. Everything we make is designed to last—modular with replaceable parts and extended software support, so you can keep what you love for longer. Now, we’re doubling down: true sustainability means keeping your devices longer without compromising performance or design. We don’t just innovate for the sake of it, we design with purpose. Everything we make pushes the boundaries of what’s right, what’s normal and what’s possible.

But our evolution runs deeper than hardware specs. It’s about you—our Fairphone community and everyone that values craftsmanship, integrity and long-term thinking over fleeting trends. Our refreshed brand identity taps into that mindset—confident, minimalist and impactful. No gimmicks, no noise—just purposeful design done right.

Say hello the new Fairphone

We’ve flipped the switch and made a start—from today on, you’ll see a new Fairphone take shape.

Fairphone in 2025 and beyond

We’ve worked hard behind the scenes to align our refreshed vision with our product roadmap, creating a unified identity that amplifies everything that makes Fairphone Fairphone. New logo. New colors. New fonts. New website. New socials. New photography. New cinematography. And so much more. Yes—there’s more. I’m keeping that under wraps for now, but exciting things are on the horizon—watch this space.

We’ve flipped the switch and made a start—from today on, you’ll see a new Fairphone take shape. What hasn’t changed is our mission to lead by example in the complicated tech space. We’re still here to challenge the status quo, push for sustainable innovation and demand accountability. Fair should be the standard—not an afterthought.

As we step into this new era, we’re inviting you all to shape the future alongside us. A smarter, fairer, longer-lasting relationship with technology is not only possible; it’s essential.

So here we are, finally. Welcome to the new Fairphone. Head on over to our socials and tell us what you think. What should we create next in 2025?

The new FP app with the new theme and logo is also already available :tada: Maybe a rebrand of the name itself next time? Since FP is expanding their products slowly outside the scope of phones.

Why? None of this makes a better phone or happier FP owners.

New customer service. New attitude in handling bugs and resolving problems.

Waiting for a miracle …

Have you already secured www.greenphone.com?

Soooo are we finally getting a bug tracker, and an official community representative who keeps an eye on this forum?

Are we ACTUALLY going to be able to have a conversation about user feedback?

Couldn’t have said it better myself. They deliver some great hardware, but the software and customer support just aren’t there yet.

A bit strange for a company with 6 phones out, IMO.

I like the new logo. But to be honest, this would be more important:

Since the release of Android 13 (September 2023) there is a long existing and very annoying bug for some FP3(+) users, which was confirmed by the support but never got fixed until now :frowning:

What would really make FP a gamechanger is a modular design that enables to upgrade your phone, instead of introducing a new model every two years. My FP3 is kinda outdated, slow and has an improvable camera. I have never had to replace components because a component broke. I would very much like to replace components now to make the phone better and faster, instead of waiting another year till a new model comes out. I remember FP made a camera upgrade available with the FP2. That worked for me.

I hope we don’t get that explanaion for the security updates being late again that those were delayed because of the rebranding…

A month ago, we sold our two FP3+, that bug made part of our home automation unusable. Happy Moto G75 users now, and won’t return to Fairphone ever.

maybe create first: speedy and immediate security updates

lol seriously… these corporations… sigh… :frowning:

Before that they could start communicating what in the world is taking so long for the bugs to be fixed.

I’ve had my FP4 for three years now and I went from “This is the best phone I’ve ever had and I’m happy for leaving Google and Apple” to “This is the worst phone I’ve ever had and I won’t be buying another Fairphone ever again” very quickly. I live in Sweden and I read a lot on Swedish forums, and let’s just say that Fairphone won’t be winning this country over anytime soon.

I can live with the security updates being behind schedule. What I can’t live with are the frustrating bugs and poorly thought out decisions.

Is AOD causing an unexpected battery drain? Just remove a feature that was advertised with no way of getting it back.

Are users tired of the bugs? Change the logo.

A delay in Android 14 for FP4? Announce it in a FP5 thread and don’t change the actual support page for it for several months. Also, don’t inform us beta testers at all in any way.

I think OmniFair would be a good name (but seems to exist already), when they expand beyond (head)phones.

I can agree with most of the points mentioned here.
Rebranding, changing colors or type faces is absolutely pointless, as long as key features of a brand are not working.
Even this post here in the forum is nearly without any real information. Only marketing speech. It’s really a pity that a lot of promises you are making are never fulfilled but then a rebrand is sold to us as a big step forward. If there are big things in the queue, then please rebrand, when you have something to show, right now it’s just disappointing.

Corps. should just stay way from blogpost and new that doesn’t contain any substantial. 100% fluff and buzz words just annoys me.

For all this rebrand effort, its really disappointing to see Fairphone still using Twitter/X , I don’t think that X under Musk aligns with Fairphone’s values, but if inertia still keeps you there, at least consider using Bluesky in parallel

I think have to go this way too. Even more because I just found the information that they gave up on Android 14 for FP3(+) and I’m completely baffled.
See the very last paragraph here.

The legacy Linux kernel (4.9) used in the Fairphone 3(+) poses significant challenges for the upgrade.

The community already solved this issue. LOS for FP3(+) is available for months.

This marketing nonsense is not worthy of a sustainable company. More action and less talk should be the motto. There would be so much work to do:

  • Android 14 for FP4
  • urgent fixes to make the Fairbuds usable (an unfinished product since the release)
  • security fixes that are on time
  • a much needed better support and communication with the Fairphone community

Instead Fairphone writes a blog post that has nothing to say other than anounce a rebranding. I am really annoyed and at the moment I would not buy a Fairphone again.
