If changing the colors and fonts on your website is already a “big step” for you… you need a few more people who know about Android!?
‘Free speech’ shouldn’t mean saying any old made up pooh, especially from high profile influencers, as Musk is apt to do. It’s not just what is posted, it’s also about how the algorithms are gamed to promote specific viewpoints which he is in favour of (and demotes other views he disagrees with)
To me, that’s censorship, and the real Orwellian twist to X currently.
Anyway, we can disagree on that, Fairphone can stay on X and parallel post on Bluesky for those of us that prefer that forum - that way we’re all happy.
Back to topic please.
design looks nice, but I hope that Fairphone will make their Support and Bug Fixikng better. That is the only Problem I really have with Fairphone.
Just to offer another sound: I’m in the videogames business, we have memes about the “why are you rebranding when you could fix bugs instead” mentality.
Not that anyone is claiming the opposite, but obviously rebranding and software improvement are two very different parts of the business, so one does not detract attention from the other per se. This is for attracting new business and growing, which they should do even if their current products have issues.
I will admit, worst case, this impacts the delivery on Android updates etc, because engineers would have to be rerouted to… replace the logo in the software? But honestly, that would be very bad business.
More likely, this pivot changes nothing significant, so we should just hope that they slowly get better at it. And best case, they put their money where their mouth is, and start improving their phones, of which software is currently one of the big flaws.
I hope they do something with all the feedback here, but the rebranding looks great, I much prefer green over blue, hope they improve the business as well.
i totally agree with you.
really dislike if everything is changed again and again, don’t understand that behavior. can’t find the buttons again (Kuch… …like each Windows update)
please only fix things how are broken. and sorry to say that’s a lot.
Also the FP3 got a new camera. And to recognise it, a name extension FP3+.

I want to address this also.
Twitter went nuts! Please leave it. That would have more impact then changing colors.
For me the most interesting and also the most annoying part is this sentence
Yes—there’s more. I’m keeping that under wraps for now, but exciting things are on the horizon—watch this space.
So I assume there will be more than just changing the logo and colors and updating marketing texts on the homepage. Might be something cool, might be not.
But why not wait until these exciting things can be revealed and make it just one post?
This one here I find rather pointless.
New app dit just appear on my phone.
now the community forum is accessible from the app. interesting. well not really. bugs again. logging in not possible. error from Google or something.
and more issues.
update: now it looks stable.
Just a big oxen cart full of marketing Bsht.
Thanks for that attitude. If you tried a little harder, you could maybe achieve insight into what would really help your customers.
I’m not looking forward to a lot of stuff related to so-called “AI”. But I absolutely look forward to “AI” taking over (or having taken over already) producing such marketing text.
There’s still a glimmer of hope that resources then are being freed for more productive and meaningful activities. Let’s stay optimistic .
Where next?
Ditch LLMs - some of us are old enough to remember Mr Clippy the first time around - at least that wasn’t actively holding back the renewable energy transition all by itself.
Ditch deadweight social platforms run by narcissists in favour of places where you can actually build a community.
Focus on upgradable accessories: Take a leaf from Framework’s book. Don’t just replace the battery, use new chemistries to improve it in the same form factor. Build a better camera module that can be user-replaceable. Develop a back-plate with Qi-charging.
Not really true, it is true that it’s possible to install android 15 on FP3 (LineageOS 22.1 is almost ready) but Google simply doesn’t admit that, it’s an insecure old kernel, so if they upgrade they probably have to remove Google Play Services.
Back in the years I have bought my FP3+ to install LOS4microg, so it’s not a big problem for me but… I will never stop to tell everyone that mainline is the key to a really fair fairphone.
They cannot upgrade for programmed obsolescence and this is really sad and really unfair.
Enough griping - tablet and smartwatch please
6 posts were split to a new topic: Camera Fairphone 3
Wait … are you saying this promo text wasn’t created by an AI? It’s way too long for what the actual message is. Very repetitive up to the point where nothing is said at all. I really hope this is the result from an AI text generator.
Even though AI never errs, I still disagree
There always was a link to the forum inside the app.
You got my hopes up that it is now possible to use the app as a forum reading place.
But trying to log in with google shows an error message, something along the lines of the browser not complying with Google’s requirements.
Which was always an issue, and it reminded me why I never used the app to check the forums. I’m not interested browsing it when I’m not logged in.
