Quickstep keeps stopping

Hello
Since the software update yesterday my phone says: ‘quickstep keeps stopping’.
It’s is teally anoying. I tried different things without a solution:

  • reboot the fairphone
  • forced stopping of the app
  • clear cash and stored data of quickstep
  • reboot the FP in safe mode, the problem stays

Inm on holiday, so factory reset and installing all my apps is the last thing I want to do. Are there other things I can do to solve this?

Kind Regards

I confirm that I am facing the same issue since the Android 15 update.
I tried the same steps as explained above with no success.

Quicktime or Quickstep? App or launcher? So if the launcher Quickstep maybe try another launcher for the time being like Nova Launcher.

I’ll correct the title.

Same problem, it’s even worst here since I can’t remove widget or app shortcuts from homescreen…

I’m dealing also with this problem, and it’s annoying

I’m facing the same issue after the android 15 and the google play updates (so I’m not sure about the culprit). I’ve done the same steps as explained above.
I don’t have any other launcher btw. I have sent a message to the support, I hope that they will be able to solve the problem.

Same problem after Android 15 update

Same here. And since my phone crashed a couple of weeks ago and I had to perform a factory reset, I’m not set on doing that process all over again…

Follow-up message: I did perform a factory reset again and the issue is resolved.
I also had issues with phone calls where the other side couldn’t hear me, that was resolved by the factory reset as well.

Same problem here, emptying Quickstep cache did not help, deleting Quickstep data removed almost all my icons

Same problem here.
Of course tried deleting app data, same result as above, lost customized home but still crashing.
And I really don’t want to perform a device reset and loose all my data.

So, like proposed in another topic here, I installed another launcher and made it default in system settings.

For info I used fossify launcher from f-droid.

There are lots of other ways you can lose your data. So even if you don’t factory reset you should always have an up to date backup.

What I mean is I don’t want to have to set and tweak all my phone again.
Plus, I don’t find it normal to force user reset phones after an update…

There is zero need to do a factory reset, just install a different launcher, re-arranging App Icons isnt that big deal in my eyes

That’s what I did (you can read it just few posts above), but, do you think it’s a normal situation?
Next update if it’s settings app that crashs, will that be an option to “install a different settings app” ?

No its not but it makes your phone usable for now. Its for sure important to report to support so that Fairphone can start to look into this
