I have the same issue.
Which alternative launcher would you recommend?
Would a second launcher impact the performance of my phone?
I was curious about the launcher experience on Android 15 but got the same issue…
So I just keep using Lawnchair as default which is very similar with more customization and is open source.
Hope Fairphone devs will fix this in the next release!
I use fossify launcher from f-droid like I said already.
It is simple like quickstep.
Don’t see any difference on my FP5, made it primary launcher (had to reboot after that for good working).
I would not expect that.
Same here, very annoying. What’s should we do?
Report to support (most important) and either return to factory settings or install another launcher. Nova, Fossify, Lawnchair have been mentioned.
Thanks Dryhte. I already reported. OK I’ll try the launchers
Same problem, and black screen when i close app
Currently the best solution seems to be to use an alternative launcher. See above.
For the black screen try pressing the power button once, wait 5" and press again.
Don’t forget to report officially.
Welcome to the forum btw.
Thanks,
the black screen only appears a fraction of a second. And other times, it’s the “quickstep s’arrête systématiquement” Window that appears.
The problem des indeed disappear when i change the launcher.
This is quickstep crashing and restarting.
Hi,
Same for me, I had to switch to Nova. Hope they will correct that. I like it as standard as possible.
Regards,
Factory reset of the device fixed the issue.
Same is happening with Quickstep. I’ve changed the launcher to Fossify launcher, but I’m still experiencing erratic behaviour. Moving between screens is slow, and in a matter of minutes, the launcher screen just freeze, even though if I click around it reacts and I can open apps blindly.
Seems to be only the launcher aspect, because swiping the notifications menu works, and I do not notice any slowdown with other UIs that aren’t the launcher.
Is fairphone working on a fix ? Maybe that could be nice for your customers
@alex.ruiz welcome to the forum.
Make sure you have backups.
It may become necessary to perform a Factory reset.
Whom are they?
You’re not talking to Fairphone here, this is a community forum.
Welcome btw.
Yes of course but I’m sure they are aware of these forums and check them to see how things are going…
Perhaps. But the only way to be sure is to open a Support ticket, if you have a problem. This has been repeated time and again like a scratched record
Ooof, I was waiting for an update, but you may be right and probably I should factory reset the phone.
