🇬🇧 🇩🇪 Random reboots with (official) Lineage OS?

This morning i found my phone asking for the decrypt password after i had it on charger overnight. I made an entry on the bugtracker, with last_kmsg. Looks like it rebooted long after being full (started charging at around one o’clock, and it rebooted at around 7:30)

I mainly notice random reboots when using OSMand~ with GPS and offline maps, and listening music from VLC.

I can have no reboot during 3h of driving, and then 3 in a raw, with a long time (5-10min) to get the position back.

It’s also not rare to pull the phone out my pocket and be asked for the SIM code, as it did reboot without any specific task (looks like a hardware pb tough).

I’m pretty happy how stable LineageOS is for me.
I do however experience reboots as soon as battery is fully charged.
Anything I could do about it?

Not a fix, but a workaround that also helps increase your battery life:

i have new reboot on @work with apple router. Lineage (last version 02.01.2018) works without special boot image from chris.
Here my last_kmsg files.

Your phone probably has the original (faulty) WLAN driver loaded (again).

@chrmhoffmann any further news on this?

I haven’t had a single reboot since the latest nightly build (09/01).
Pretty impressed so far.

I’ve had constant reboots since the January releases.
Even without the Apple router problem. I’ve uploaded a new kmsg file (last_kmsg_13012018.txt).

Are you still using your custom kernel I gave you a while back?

After two months with my spare phone (i needed to be available all the time) i took my FP2 as second phone two weeks ago(with LineageOS) and now i completly switched back ~4 days ago.
40 hours ago the last update… and since then my Phone didn’t rebooted once
A really big Change since when i started using LOS(4 till 10 reboots a day)
Whatever you made in this time you made it good :+1:

I have your last uploaded image from you and now I have no more daily reboots.

I’m unsure where to post this, bugtracker or a different topic, but it would be good to understand whether people think my sudden battery drains and random boots (not as frequent now) could be related to a faulty battery or other hardware rather than software. I can always try a replacement battery if people think it’ll help.

The screengrab below is one of my more extreme examples from today. Whilst cycling and using Strava, the tracking kept stop/starting and I had a reboot when I took it out of my pocket to check. It was also a very cold ride.

Did you ever run normal Fairphone os?

I am starting to run out of ideas.

Chris

No. That’s not the same issue as when fp reboots on mechanical pressure,
there is no kernel stack trace.

Chris

Just had a reboot with LOS 20180123 while on charger. Nothing in last-kmsg, unfortunately

No, I did not find a normal FPOS image to install, only updates unfortunately.

Hey,

Hello,

i have new reboots with the latest Lineage OS version in conjunction with an Apple Wireless Router.
Are the changes from boot image “Prima” not included?

In addition, I have the Prima-Bootimage more often crashes of individual apps, not the Fairphone, which I do not have without them. I do not want to have to decide if the crash will happen entirely through Wi-Fi or individual app crashes.

Here ist my last_kmsg file.

Hey,

could not you catch the exception instead of always triggering the same reboot?
