Hey everyone, I’m in the process of setting up my FP6 with e/os/. At the first try with the e/os/ installer I got to Activate Developer Options > OEM Unlock > Activate USB Debugging then got stuck when the phone paired to my laptop but the browser would not recognise it, so the installer did not let me proceed to the next page. So I tried to retrace my steps - deactivating all previous settings, restarting, factory reset but every time I try now I can’t get past the OEM Unlock because I get an error message saying the verify code is incorrect. This happens both when I use the unlock code I generated the first time (which was all numbers, which I am able to input), and when I use new unlock codes I generated after the factory reset - but these contain both letters and numbers, and the input box does not respond to letters, or at least not all of them and no capital letters, so I am unable to input all of them. When I scan and copy from the code generating page it seems to input all of them but still signals an incorrect code. To be clear, this is not the PIN input window. Has anyone had this issue/know how to fix? It’s odd because there was no issue at this step the first time around.
this is not expected.
Thanks for this but it does not address to OEM Unlocker issue unfortunately
Someone already had this issue with their FP4
If the hints in the topic above don’t help, my advice would be to contact Fairphone support. Looks like either the code generator page or the code entry on the phone need to be fixed.
Hi Ingo, thanks for these suggestions. The OEM unlocking input worked in the end with another code (I saw somewhere else that hex code is fine - so only letters a-f), but at the device detection step while the phone was recognised by my laptop and pair (Chrome browser) I am unable to get the popup on the phone and I can see others have had this issue with no solution. I give up - I was really keen to degoogle but I’ve had issues at almost every step of the installer and I’m not advanced enough to run commands etc. - but thanks for responding!
It is almost 3 copy/paste actions…
