FP4 OEM-unlocking fails due to capital letters in verify code

Hi,

I have the following problem:

Trying to activate OEM-unlocking, I have to enter a “verify code” (that I can have created on a Fairphone internet site after entering my phones IMEI and serial no).

Unfortunately, this code always seems to contain numbers as well as CAPITAL letters, my keyboard however will only accept small letters and numbers.

I tried

  • entering the code with small letters
  • entering the code in another app and inserting ist via copy&paste
  • using another keyboard app to enter the code

Nothing worked so far.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Katharina

Hi Katharina,
Welcome to the Fairphone forum!

Are you sure that at that step you’ll already have to enter the unlock code generated on the website?
Normally the first step is to type in the unlock code (your pin) for your device/screen.
Documentation see e.g. here:
https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/10492476238865-How-to-unlock-and-re-lock-the-bootloader
If it was this first step (before the page to enter the verify code from the website) it’d explain the limited keyboard keys.
