It’s not only about being on Orange network. It’s about phones that have been on it, even if they aren’t today.
My wife’s phone was inialy used on Orange Network, mine wasn’t. We are now both on another network. Hers is touched by the bug, not mine.

Hello there
I am on Orange France network and I used to read this forum from time to time, waiting for a bright new A15 update coming for me, but I think I’m starting to get tired of it all (especially since the Orange users are now considered a small group that, I fear, will fall into oblivion until no more security update for Android 13 will be deployed).
I’m still on Android 13 (I just received the TP33.C.0146) . The A15 update was never rolled out on my FP4 and from what I understand, I should be happy about that. But it’s now February and I still don’t get it: what is the problem? Did Orange communicate about this at some point? Does Fairphone have to develop an update that meets Orange’s criteria? I’m a little confused.
Just a reminder in particular for Orange subscribers to keep an eye on these two threads:
Disclaimer, it’s all just conjecture, but here is my analysis:
Now for us Orange users this was the perfect storm: Fairphone is still fighting to get a grip on issue #1, and issue #2 won’t be tackled before issue #1 is fixed to a “good enough” point.
Of course it’s annoying to be the red-headed stepchild (Orange-headed stepchild?), but obviously Fairphone needs to employ their limited resources to fix issue #1. Because it affects more users, and also because before it is solved (or at least alleviated) there is no point working on a Orange users version of the upgrade. They know by now their A15 is broken, so there is no point building an Orange version on that.
Yes, the pompous A15 announcement was posted November 5th, 2025, and 3 months and a week later we’re still on A13, but that’s Fairphone for you. At least they know they’re perfect… ![]()
Hello,
I’m a bit lost with all’updates and different user situations. I’m an orange user with android 15 update and temporary fix for Quickstep restart issue. Can I safely do the SREL.15.14.4 update which is proposed on my phone since january ?
Regards
Hi fkofler,
Please check wich build is installed at your FP4.
If it is SREL.15.14.3 it should be safe to update because 15.14.4 ist just a security update. Otherwise I would not recommend it.
Greets Robert
My build is QREL.15.14.3
Should be safe to update.
Do a restart before you update and again restart immediately after the update has finished and you are prompted to do so.
Robert
Here another FP4 user. I just installed the A15 upgrade and had the same issue with Quickstep described by other users. I’m not in France and my company is not Orange. Thanks to the other users in this forum, I could install the other Launcher and now I can use my phone again.
This is definitely the first and last FP that I buy…
