FP4 Quickstep keeps stopping after A15 upgrade -

Good evening, I have a Fairphone 4 and did the update with Android 15 but I have a big problem with Quick step which us unstable. My screen does not stop to be on and off…Do you know how to solve this problem ? I can not use my phone anymore. Of course, I tried to restart many times…

Upgrade to Android 15 went well.
I have Lean Launcher.
Perhaps you can try to boot into Safe Mode and see what happens then.

Thanks but I have already tried to boot in Safe Mode, but then great difficulties to start again…

I can’t install Lean Launcher now because my screen is unusable…I don’t know how to do.

I personally dont fully understand whats going on and why you think its the launcher? Is there any error message? Is the phone booting or the screen really going on - off, however not really locking

Btw. for the records: my update went smooth and I dont have seen any issues so far.

My screen flashees. I can’t click on any button.

Can I write in my native langage on thos forum (French) or is it better in English ?

Maybe because I don’t have enough space so it can’t work with Android 15 ?

you can just kindly open a new topic for this. Or you just use a translator and post the translation here.

It is OK, I can write directly in English :-). But sometimes it may be approximative. I will try to use a translator.

The problem is that my screen is blinking. And regularly I have the message : “Quickstep stops automatically” and I can choose “Infos about the app” or “force stoppage”.

I think this kind of problem happened with Fairphone 5 : am I right or not ?

do you know how much you had before the update?

Can you try to boot into recovery, turn off and start by pressing power plus Vol-up together.

Could Lean Launcher replace Quickstep ?

Hello
There have been issues with quickstep crashing but I don’t recall any cases with screen blinking and the users unable to install a different launcher.

  • No I don’t know how much free space I had before the update (that I did one hour ago approximately)
  • I have already boot into recovery, turn off and started by pressing power plus Vol-up together. I am not sure that I did exactly that way…I can try again.

I actually doubt from the description that this is because of the launcher.

@sofba so in recovery you had no issues with flashing screen? If yes in worst case you could do a factory reset from there (for sure that would mean data loss in case you havent backed-up your data…

I will open a new topic for this.

I just turned it off. When I try to start by pressing power plus Vol-up together, I have the message “no command” with the icon of a broken robot…:frowning:

please again use power plus Vol-up shortly…overall thats weird as this is an old recovery…
