ESIM problem on fairphone 6

Hi,

I m posting this post in english even there is a same topics in french (i ll put the link below). I hope like that that more people can advice us. We are already 2 users of new fairphone 6 encountering the same issue : we have activated esim with belgium orange operator and we cannot send nor receive any SMS.

I ll explain my situation (a little but different from Manon as she can make some calls, i don’t…unless i m connected to wifi or 4G) and try to explain the steps here :

-New fairphone 6 received in december (my 1rst one i was so excited to have chosen fairphone)

-I have 2 sim cards, so i need to change one in an esim as fairphone6 has just one physical sim place, the other is esim in order to have dual sim mode. I changed my orange sim in esim.

I could easily scan and activate the sim card but quite quickly i see that i can’t text nor receive SMS. And also see that my number is disappearing from my esim card parameter when i desactivate the 4G call option. This is a littel bit playful because you don’t see that directly. (when having desactivated the 4G option, the number is still there, but if you go back to previous menu screen and go back to that screen option of 4G now desactivated, my phone number is not there anymore…)

If i reactivated the 4G calls option, same, i have to go back to screen to see well back my number….

I already change 3 times my esim card, erase, restart, try to change options, see RCS option,

my first status was connecting or something (don’t remember) and with this post : 🇫🇷 Je ne reçois pas les messages RCS , i don’t longer have any RCS field for this esim (i had force the stop, erase data of message app).

I have now done a back up and reset factory settings, reinstall my apps and so on…

Next step will be to have a 4th reinstallation of esim, i m crossing finger (and toes too :rofl: ) that the factory reset will change something….….

this might be a far fetched guess, but how about APN settings?

I have not seen these mentioned in my poor translation of Manon’s post either.

Hi Meaghan, as far as i remember this was ok.

As i no longer has the esim i cant be sure. I ll confirm you that tomorrow afternoon when going to the orange shop and having the esim back.

Hi

It s finally working at the 4th Time.

I have first erase everything from my old Samsung phone.

I Back UP and reset in factory mode my fairphone.

Lost some things in the way because my Back UP was not entire :face_with_peeking_eye:

But if just went to orange shop and now it IS working well. I try SMS calls with and without wifi and it s ok now… so i don t know which part was the problem but it solved…
