AOD makes it go away the problem comes wen the screen is turned off fully and then turned back on wen unlock the phone
AOD = no problem but massive battery drain
If AOD is turned off and the display tuns off wen you lock the phone AND here is where the problem is!
And to add on top of it how bad the display driver is you guys messed up the display driver watch a YouTube video and turn the phone to the left side to watch full screen = no problem…
Now do that again but the turn the phone to the right side display driver and fully freezes for a sec sound and everything stops this count’s for everything every app
STARTJIM you’re saying AOD isn’t a problem but that’s the one they say was already patched in the update a month ago…
Anyway I seem to find a different scenario it’d be good to see if other people can reproduce - seems to only happen / be worse with 90Hz set(?) but having the stock Camera app open, (possibly any camera app/any heavy app didn’t test further yet) then locking the device,
…then tapping to bring up the lock screen, it becomes very juddery, like it’s hard to see what code pattern you’re entering as the line lags.
Workaround to not close with camera open or just have direct unlock with fingerprint etc
Setting refresh rate to the highest is the best you can do if AOD is off
If refresh rate is set to 60hz everytime you unlock the phone is gone pick a random refresh rate between lets just say 10-60hz…
Now if you put it higher its the same but you have a higher chance of not being stuck on a low refresh rate wen you unlock the phone
I’m getting tired of explaining this and want to talk to a freaking developer so the problem gets fixed once and for all as far as i see many keep giving the wrong info over and over and i hate that as that is drowning out the real problem
Its like Microsoft feedback hub the idea is good but its over flowing with people who have no idea what there talking about
Ha welcome to the club if the next update does not fixed the basic problems im switching to LOS the unofficial builds and as far as i know they do not have these problems that should not exist in the first place
im seeing “refresh rate optimization” they need to stop doing that they need to remove all there optimizations as i bet this is what the problem is there optimization’s
After the update it seems like the display works better for me — no lagging in general. I only noticed the issue once: in the morning when I first picked up the phone, the screen was lagging. After locking and unlocking again, it went back to normal. Could it be that the phone goes into a deep sleep mode and the software doesn’t handle the display properly when waking up?
Disabled AOD, enabled wake up by notifications, and set refresh rate to 60hz. So far 0 drops. Will give it a week to try. Battery life seems much better like this.
As discussed in the post above that I have Replied To in this message, there were white a few potential causes of refresh rate issues, I understand this Patch solely intends to fix the locked during video playback, scenario two.
What i can say is it does still happen but allmost never now have it happen 1 time but it was not at a super low refresh rate and it recovered after 1 min
What i think there doing is removing all there screen optimizations
Wen rotating the screen clock wise the phone sound and display allways freezes on wen going clock wise this also still happens but its now even shorter so im thinking there removing all there optimizations
Is it fixed? For me it seems to be fixed for 99% of time as i only had it happen once and the refresh rate was dropped to 60 for like a 1 min wanted to re-lock and unlock to phone but it was allready gone and i unlocked the phone over 2000+ times just see if can get it to trigger
