Hi, I didn’t remember it well but if you have a look on my review of the case, you’ll be able to see these small dots as well.
So I guess it’s the standard version, unfortunately
Did anyone manage to get q refund for the case ?
Support didn’t answer yet.
I’ve bought the Tudoa DualShield now and I’m happy with the cases.
For anyone still deciding: I had a Biowaves case and while I really liked it, I broke it last week when trying to take it off the phone. It fits very very snug and I guess I bend it too much trying to remove it.
I now also have a Tudia case and I’ll see how I like it. It is a lot easier to put on/take off but it’s noticabely bulkier. (though I am not sure if I would find it bulky without the direct comparison to the biowaves one)
It saves the phone from severe damage, but I agree that it may be more fragile than other cases. I mentioned earlier that when my wife’s phone fell on tiles the case broke. Biowaves sent a new case without any discussion and I guess that they would have done that in your case, too. The new case has a few micro-cracks already again after a few more drops, unfortunately.
Oh, yes, it definitely saved my phone when I dropped it. The case got scratches from the fall, but that’s what a case is for, kind of Maybe those drops led to it breaking later.
I was thinking about contacting Biowaves. Their customer support was very helpful when I needed help with my order, so I would not be surprised if they gave me a new case. I might still contact them eventually, since I am still happy with the case overall, but for now I wanted to try a different product.
I’m upgrading from FP3 to FP5 (translucent) and after a bit of research l’m looking at the Tudia DualShield Grip case, which seems to be a good choice based on what I’ve skim-read in this thread. I’m just torn between ‘Indigo Blue’ and ‘Pine Green’ now so any thoughts on how nice they look in reality would be appreciated!
@jdanielp i have ‘Pine Green’… In global i prefer green over blue color, and in real this look really cool for me, is dark green, more darken then on product photos, in low light is like black :-)
I went for ‘Pine Green’ and I now have my new FP5 in the case and it looks good, thanks! As an added bonus, it just about fits inside my Aquapac waterproof case that my FP3 slid around in!
I would be interested in photos after some months, to see how yellow it will become that’s what I dislike about transparent cases.
Mine has a yellowish tint, I dont care as I see it mainly when its not in use. Placing it on a white paper, shows ist worse than it is in my eyes
So far after 2 months is still the same, but it gets a bit greasy to the touch which I dislike. Remind me after a few more moths and I will make an update oh how it is
Hi,
i was wondering if Fairphone is considering ore already working on improving the original backcover.
so far i know they still sell the exact same as at the beginning, can someone confirm that?
it looks like ther is still a group of user’s that ar happy about the original backcover for the FP5.
something that is hard for me to understand.
knowing its not protecting the screen (one experience)
and heard about problems with the case wearing out and sliding of the phone as well.
im just wondering wat will Fairphone think about it it self, maybe someone here have already some knowledge about that?
greetings
Tom
I don’t know if they still sell it @T4om, but yeah, I want to echo that the current one is bad. It also got loose for me after some months, and would slip off the corners when I picked it up, protecting even less.
Also, a friend of mine owns the FP4 with the official back cover, and it’s way better. He still uses it after several years. It has a higher bump. I can imagine FP wanted to join the trend of minimising bulk, but it’s a mediocre product now.
And FWIW, I’m very happy with the TUDIA Merge mentioned above. My only gripe is that the front part of the blue version is yellowing rapidly. But functionally it’s a near perfect case. Bulky but firm.
I really wish Fair phone made a case that fit tighter and have more grip to the surface. I used to mount my old phone on my bicycle using a stick on bracket, but the fair phone case isn’t secure enough to do this as it doesn’t click in around the phone for a strong hold. I also find it’s very slippery and smooth, although the screen is durable I’ve dropped the phone so many times. Wish there was a more reliable case
Hi - what are the best flip cases suitable for the FP5 please?
Thank you.
Hi @Douglas_Cole,
Where are you looking for?
i don’t think there will be one anser to your question.
a big part of it will be about wat you prefer.
still hope ofcourse that now everyone will post ther personal favoriet! mine (sorry its not a flip case)
Do you like to have a place for payment cards?
Ar you looking for one how will not wear out soon?
one that will give a lot of protection for dust and dropping on the ground? (dust is maybe bad example, most book cases dont handel dust so well)
one how is made in a bit more eco friendly way?
you prefer the filp/book case.
perfect, wat dit make you choose for that type?
greetings
Tom
P.S. dont forget to put a screenprotector. sand scratches Gorilla Glass, scratched Gorilla Glass breaks much more easily. a screenprotector protects against scratches.
Thanks @T4om. Not worried about space for cards. Just want one that will last and yes, a flip just to give a bit more protection. Obviously if it is eco too that would be preferable. I thought I found one by Lux but it is out of stock now soo missed out!
Doug.
I haven’t found a flip case that I like but the Tudia case that’s discussed in this topic is really great. Tight and protective, plus gives good grip.
I’m trying again on the topic above that was not understood.
I previously asked about a cover (protective case) for the FP5 to which a lanyard could be attached. I was directed to the protective case available for 40€. This is NOT what I’m asking about. Thanks but I have that case. I need a case to which I can attach a lanyard, as I described in my first message.
The FP5 is slightly larger than those on the market. (Perhaps such an accessory does not exist. If so, strange.)
I moved your topic now here, please do some reading above e.g. here and posts below
