Thanks for the notice! Absolutely right. Read the content too many times to spot this error. I will change that right away! Peaceout

LinneageOS is displayed as THE choice of deGoogleing your Fairphone while it is probably the worst choice of the big and available custom ROMs in terms of deGoogle. LinneageOS just does not focus on it, not their goal. Discussed many times here in the forum, for example: Custom ROMs comparison?

Please check the forum for alternatives before leaving to this external manual. custom-roms

Thanks for the response @janweiss. I have long time experience with roms, root and related, but for the first time bought a Fairphone 5. I will add this to the guide, so users can decide what works for them. Peace and respect! Stay safe, stay private! :v:

This says “LineageOS, a privacy-focused custom ROM.”
Not even LineageOS claim this. Or do they? I could use a reference.

Hi @AnotherElk LineageOs is on itself not privacy secure. For most people is its a solid somewhat bloatfree solution. With out gapps and some small tweaks, it gives some control back in case of privacy. But I agree far from 100% secure. At least it is a start for people who are unfamiliar with anything besides stock os.

Feel free to request additional changes to the manual! Thanks and stay safe!

/e/ is is officially supported, why not recommend that if your main goal is privacy /de googling?
