Fairphone 5 does not turn on anymore

Hey,

I am having an issue with my FP5. It was very low (under 8%) so I charged it. At ~30% I unplugged it and put it in my pocket. When I took it out again it stopped reacting when pressing the power button. I then removed and reinserted the battery, but now it does not turn on anymore. The battery should be charged a bit, since it was at ~30% around half an hour prior. I still tried to charge it with the chargers that usually work, but there is no sign of charging. The screen stays off no matter what I do.

I contacted the Fairphone support, but I wanted to try my luck here, since I need my phone for a flight and a vacation in 2 days.
Is there anything that might help get my phone back on?

Try to take out your battery for some seconds, don’t start the phone after you put it back in. Instead, use a known to be good charger and let it charge for some hours. Then, try turning it back on. If it still doesn’t turn on, take out the battery again for some seconds and try again to start it. If it still doesn’t work, I think some piece of hardware is cooked (battery, charging-port, main-module).

Thanks
I just tried it. I let the phone without batteries overnight. When I put the batteries back in and tried to boot it now showed the tco/android/fairphone splashscreen, went dark, vibrated, showed the splashscreen again, went dark again, and then became unresponsive.

So I tried to do the same, but charging it before. I removed the batteries for a few hours. When I put them back in I plugged the phone in. It showed some splashscreens and that it was charging. The battery was at 40% so I instantly tried to boot. Again though, it only showed splashscreens before becoming unresponsive.

Yesterday I also tried your tips, but it really needed a long time with the batteries removed, before I can attempt to boot. Now it feels like some booting issue. Though I’m not sure, because becoming unresponsive after attempting to boot is not really what I expect from booting problems.

I am going to let it sit without batteries for a while and try to boot in recovery mode just to see if that works. But in general, is there anything I can try now without voiding my warranty?

Ok, so recovery mode works. Factory reset did not help. So I guess it may be a corrupted update or something. I did perform an update a while ago, and this was probably the first boot since, but the update was successful. No power outage or anything.
