On the SIM-less FP5 here, this update is not available yet. This device upgraded to Android 15 in July already, so not affected by the fingerprint sensor issue.

:white_exclamation_mark:If any others are updating, it might be helpful to add if you were on A14 or A15 before this update – and if the fingerprint sensor issue was present on your device.

Update succeeded. My phone is already on A15 since it got released. No fingerprint sensor issue here. I’m using a Swiss provider with an eSIM.

“SIM x is VOLTE capable” message is stll present.

To think it took them 3 months to fix this and they didn’t pull the plug on the update at all during those three months. Pretty crazy. I wonder how many users were affected all in all…

I discovered that the following link works already: https://fairphone-android-builds.ams3.digitaloceanspaces.com/FP5/A15/FP5-VT2E-factory.zip

Even though it is not published on https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/18896094650513-How-to-manually-install-Android-on-your-Fairphone, yet…

Network name is still displayed in the status bar, irrespective of the setting, after any notification comes in.

I’m extra loud about this little nitpick, because I can’t sweep it under the rug and live with it. The scrolling text is really annoying.

And the VoIP/HD ready notification also still pops up from time to time.

For me, simply expanding and then collapsing the notification centre again is enough to make the network name dissappear—so this bug not that annoying, at least for me.

Update went fine, was in A15 before.

Interestingly, I have as network info my home network, while I’m in holidays, roaming.. Did not try do disable it, though. Still getting Sim 1 is HD

Forgot: I’m on Telefonica

Second update: a few hours later it switched to the French provider

Yeah I know about that. I am glad it’s easy to make it go away. But when a group chat is particularly active, pulling down the shade regularly is still mildly annoying.

Just wanted to demonstrate how it looks in practice.

Update arrived today on my FP5 with German 1&1/Vodafone-SIM. First time I had a 2-day-delay. Update itself went fast & easy. The German version of the release notes in the Update app seem to be old, though, as they still list the Quickstep fix and say nothing about fingerprints.

It’s not really understandable why they disable this VOLTE notification that is all annoying us. It must be easy to do it.

Since the Update to FP5.VT2E.C.059.20250908 Info Not get any 5G Connection, Maximum i get is LTE.

Did this someone else recognize?

Enable the developer settings, search for “Prefer 5G NR Mode” check if its set to SA and change to NSA +SA.

Might be it resets to SA.

Thx, IT was Not reset, but found a solution, went to Network settings deleted them, restarted the Phone and the Phone Set the Sim Standard Settings, now it works, but I think this shouldn’t Happen for Standard User that are not in the Testing group.

What was not reset? And btw you currently comment in the public forum.

You have weiten “Might be it resets to SA." There was still NSA +SA.

So I tryed IT to deleted the Network settings and forced that the FP hast to Download the SIM Networkinformation of my Provider

Can someone who’s installed this update give a screenshot of, or describe fully, how it reports itself in Settings / About phone / Android version?

(I’m hoping for clues to help spot when material from this Fairphone OS release, with its fingerprint sensor fix, eventually makes it into an /e/OS release. Particularly interested in “Vendor security patch level”, I guess.)

Is that you’re asking for?

Thank you, yes.

(/e/OS has a “Vendor security patch level” item on this screen, but I guess that’s /e/OS specific – sorry, I’ve not used the stock Fairphone OS.)
