On the SIM-less FP5 here, this update is not available yet. This device upgraded to Android 15 in July already, so not affected by the fingerprint sensor issue.
If any others are updating, it might be helpful to add if you were on A14 or A15 before this update – and if the fingerprint sensor issue was present on your device.
To think it took them 3 months to fix this and they didn’t pull the plug on the update at all during those three months. Pretty crazy. I wonder how many users were affected all in all…
For me, simply expanding and then collapsing the notification centre again is enough to make the network name dissappear—so this bug not that annoying, at least for me.
Yeah I know about that. I am glad it’s easy to make it go away. But when a group chat is particularly active, pulling down the shade regularly is still mildly annoying.
Just wanted to demonstrate how it looks in practice.
Update arrived today on my FP5 with German 1&1/Vodafone-SIM. First time I had a 2-day-delay. Update itself went fast & easy. The German version of the release notes in the Update app seem to be old, though, as they still list the Quickstep fix and say nothing about fingerprints.
Thx, IT was Not reset, but found a solution, went to Network settings deleted them, restarted the Phone and the Phone Set the Sim Standard Settings, now it works, but I think this shouldn’t Happen for Standard User that are not in the Testing group.
Can someone who’s installed this update give a screenshot of, or describe fully, how it reports itself in Settings / About phone / Android version?
(I’m hoping for clues to help spot when material from this Fairphone OS release, with its fingerprint sensor fix, eventually makes it into an /e/OS release. Particularly interested in “Vendor security patch level”, I guess.)
(/e/OS has a “Vendor security patch level” item on this screen, but I guess that’s /e/OS specific – sorry, I’ve not used the stock Fairphone OS.)
