Arranging shortcuts on the home screen.
The app that manages the home screen (called Bliss launcher) is designed to be as simple as possible, but that means substantially reduced possibilities for configuration. All the apps appear on the home screen, so there is no need for an app drawer (that you have in standard Android by swiping up from bottom). No folders etc. Home screen pages (swipe left and right) fill up from top left. You can’t leave gaps, but you can create more pages before the last one is full (as many pages as you need).
What you can do:
- Distribute the shortcuts on different pages. Hold and then move a shortcut to the right edge of the screen to reach the following page. That enables you to group shortcuts on different pages according to theme, often used, or what you want. To create a new page, just swipe the pages to the left until you get to the last one, and then move a shortcut to the right edge of the screen so that it falls onto a new page. Pages must have at least one shortcut or they disappear if empty.
- Before you install a new app, first go to the home screen page where you want to put the shortcut. The shortcut is always added to the page of the home screen you last visited.
- Page 0 (the LEFTmost page) contains an Edit button for installing widgets from your apps.
Otherwise, you can install an alternative launcher app such as Lawnchair (the pun is not mine !) or Nova – there are dozens to choose from. Search “launcher” in both forums to get an idea of what people think.
[Edit] – a word about SD cards. Please read the Forum Guide on the subject and also this topic.
