Hi,
I am new to this forum, fairphone angels etc.
I am based near Leeds, happy to pop to London (will be there in 2 weeks) - and my phone is suffering from the effects of getting drenched in the rain. At the time I was camping so delayed any action. Currently it is in rice. I tried it a few days ago, it turns on, gets a few notifications, then turns itself off.

I presume because the phone got wet it is not in warranty, otherwise it is only 3 months old.

What can I do, how do I get it fixed? I have not the spare brain cells to fix it myself atm.

My region was not on there. So, I took a punt at one of the Chris names on the forum and struck lucky, so I am now in touch with a local angel (that sounds so odd!).

Comment ça va?! Je suis très contente d’avoir trouvé ton contact sur le forum fairphone à propos des fairphone angels! Voila j’ai un petit souci, j’ai acheté un fairphone 2 jusque là tout va bien. Mais il y a deux choses: quand j’insère ma carte sim, juste en haut à gauche de la batterie, le telephone ne la reconnait pas… J’ai une carte sim virgin, et mon forfait est sfr(c’est la carte de avant de passer de virgin à sfr en fait) Est ce que tu crois que c’est à cause de ça?

I’m student in engineering, specialized in computer science and electronic. I have buy my fairphone in january 2016 (if in the same time if I can have the 3 years fairphone 2 it would be nice ). Since that I persuade my mum and brother to buy one
I love do DIY. I’m acctualy part of a robotic team with wich one I won 4 times national competition (maze wall category), you can see video of our job here (Zhonx3 run).
I’ve always use android OS (I hope have time for migrate to Open OS). I’ve also start to learn how to develop android app.
I really love the Fairphone approach, and I want help people who get issue or trouble with their phone. I really want fairphone’s user can find solution to their problem and trust in the fair trade.
I don’t know else I can talk about.
I hope I don’t make too much mistakes, I know that my english is bad, but I have to improve it (it’s for that I wrote it in english)

Je suis en école d’ingénier, spécialisé dans l’informatique et l’électronique. J’ai acheté mon FairPhone en janvier 2016 (si je peux aussi avoir en meme temps le badge 3 year fairphone 2 ça serait super ). depuis ça j’ai persuadé ma mère et mon frère d’en acheter un
j’aime beaucoup le bricolage. je fais partie d’un club de robotique avec lequel j’ai pu gagner 4 compétitions national (la catégorie labyrinthe a mur), Vous pouvez voir une vidéo du projet ici (Zhonx3 run).
J’ai toujours utilisé Android (j’espère toujours avoir le temps de migrer vers open OS). j’ai également commencé à apprendre à développer des applications pour Android.
j’aime vraiment la démarche de Fairphone, et je veux aider les personnes qui ont des problème avec leur FP2. je voudrait vraiment que les utilisateur de fairphone puissent trouver des solutions à leur problèmes et qu’ils aient confiance dans le commerce équitable des produit informatique

Hey folks - it’s poop timing, but I’m needing to give up my Fairphone because of what I need for my work these days and although I could hang on to my FP2, it’s time to bid it farewell. It’s one of the first 17,418 manufactured

I’ve listed it here: Fairphone 2 for Sale (UK) 🇬🇧

What does that mean for me being an angel? I think I’m probably going to need to give this up too. I have a few spares (mainly cameras and cases) I’ve acquired and I have a couple of folks I’ve been helping recently that might be in need of bits so I’ll hang on to these for now.

But I think it’s time to close down the North England angel site.

I’ll still be on the forum here and there, and I’m excited to see what happens in the future, and who knows I might just be back
