Text Messaging Repeat Error 38?

Hello

Today I started getting error 38 on 20% of my outgoing text messages. Its really annoying and makes conversations very difficult. Any fixes for this? Thanks.

I don’t have an immediate solution, but error 38 came up here before (and apart from that seems to be pretty common across devices and providers a quick internet search suggests) …

SMSC Update error FP2

Hi, I can’t send or receive SMS since a couple days. I am getting an error 38 massage. I called my provider and they asked me to update the SMSC number via the menu that pops when u dial ##4636## I have tried to put in the number given +33695000695. When I click on update it says ‘Update error’ in the field, when i click on ‘actualiser’ (sorry it in French) button it reverts the field to the following : “+33695000695”,145 and its still not working after numerous tries and reboots. Enter my sms server with dual sim card

Hi, I have a Fairphone 2 with dual sim card - one for France, one for UK. I can’t send text messages to some contacts but can send them fine to most of my contacts. When it doesn’t work I get the message Error 38. My operator in France said I should enter my sms server number, and gave me the number. But I can’t find where to enter it. If this is the issue, it still isn’t clear to me why texts should work with some people but not others. Any ideas?

I contacted my cellular provider and discovered my APN settings were incorrect. I’ve adjusted them and it seems to work fine.

Im starting to have trouble sending texts. I get an error 38 message. Usually they send on the second try. But it is annoying. Any fixes for this?
