Apologies if the following issue has already been placed on this forum. I am new here, so please forgive me if I have missed the information regarding my issue here on this forum.
I am a happy user of FF3+ since 4 years. Due to slow battery use, I have replaced the old battery with a new one a while ago. It was working great and charging well.
Now, suddenly the phone went completely dead out of nowhere. In the morning I had charged it well and I was listening to music and it was still with +/-60% battery , when without any sign of it, it completely died. Now it wont charge (tried several, cleaning it). When placing the charger it does give a red flickering light, but that is about it.
Do you have any suggestions on what I can do about this? Does this has to do with the batter or the module for charging?
Also another question, if you dont mind. Do you reckon it is worthwhile trying to resolve this?I am a bit contemplating whether I should fix it, given they stop updating the FF3, but I only have had it for 4 years (my samsung I had prior for 8 years) and I would like to remain use it due to the sustainability part.
Sorry for the long threat and hopefully you can help me
An abrupt failure has been frequently reported in recent months. You might like to read around the forum a bit; Here is a suggested search to start you off.
You might be particularly interested in the following topic. Your first aim at present will probably be to save any data on the phone that you hadnât already backed up, if you can just get it working again at least for a while.
But donât do anything hasty, get the info first!
I did fully clean it and placed it all together again, but still nothing happening. Also other chargers make no difference either. I did someone mentioning in one of the other threads, it might be the bottum module.
In a case like yours I think the best thing is to check some of the modules (bottom module in particular), if possible with the help of someone who might be able to lend modules for testing. There are a number of volunteer members of the community called âFairphone angelsâ who may be able to help in just such a situation. Have a look at the map on this page and see if thereâs one near you with whom you could get in touch. Thatâs certainly your best option right now. You can get e-mail addresses from the map. You may need to reload the page or click here to see the map.
At the same time you might regularly check the Market category of the forum (Iâve adjusted the link to select offers of FP3) to see if you canât pick up a FP3, not necessarily working, for spare parts. There seem to be some possibilities right now, either whole phone or parts sold (or sometimes given) separately.
For these transactions, you may need to send private messages (usually abbreviated to âPMâ or âDMâ). From what I can see, you should be able to send them, but let us know if you encounter problems.
