As title says, Spotify has been crashing quite often (the music just stops playing and it is as if I closed the app, I have to reopen it and then the music that was playing starts from the beginning). I’ve noticed that this seems to happen whenever I open new apps or whenever I get a notification from another app. EDIT: perhaps I should specify that this happens when I open apps that should not overwrite the audio access from Spotify, like TikTok/Instagram reels/Youtube would do, I’m talking about apps like Whatsapp, Strava, E-mail.
I had already experienced this behaviour in a previous software version, and now it is back after I updated to A15. Anyone knows what’s going on/what I can do to fix it? Any help is appreciated.
However, these were reported before the update to A15.
I presume the previous instance of the problem was resolved by an update and is now back again.
Make sure that Spotify app is allowed to run in the background:
Settings > Apps > All apps > Spotify > App battery usage > Allow background usage needs to be enabled.
Thanks for the very detailed response! It seems like a lot of people are experiencing similar things on the post you shared, a shame that so far no solution has been found. Spotify already had background usage enabled, so I think I’ll submit a bug report.
Hi!
Thanks for the suggestion! I think this is a slightly different issue than what I’m having, but I tried their proposed solution and sadly my problem still persists.
Since A15, Spotify stops playing when I receive a couple of notification
App is still running but Spotify is paused and when i press play, it resumes without sound. Happens with or without Bluetooth so linked to Spotify/Fp5 with A15
Similar problem here. Just wanted to add a couple of comments in case it helps to troubleshoot the problem (I haven’t found a solution).
It’s not only Spotify, it also happens with Tidal.
It seems to happen more often when the internet connection is worse (I would expect that the sound is buffering, but the app crashes completely). On a related note, I don’t have the problem for downloaded content, so it may be related to data streaming.
Any ideas about what could cause it / what could help? The "allow background usage” for the battery has been enabled for months but didn’t help.
