Very good, but how do i get this update?

Your provider has to approve this update.
You can check if the update is already available for you by
Go to the app Settings
Scroll down to System and tap on it
Tap on System update
Tap on Check for update

I hope you are lucky, otherwise try again tomorrow.
But again it all depends on your provider if the update is there.

Thanks , i will keep an eye on it

not seeing this update either yet. bouncing from march 2025 level directly to may 2025? will check for update/file/download sizes as well.

just showed up: download size (coming from march 2025, android 14) to may 2025 level, 608MB (!)

Yes, 1800 it was (for O2 or reseller, in this case). Sec level may 5, which really is fine!

Installed without problem:

  • on T-Mobile Czech
  • Magisk reinstalled on device (this work for me all time from A14)

Very welcome, May security level, included one week after google release it, i hope this be new trend in FP5 OTA… Thanks ;-)

Gemini became my default assistant even before this update rolled out. I manually changed it back. And this update didnt touch those settings, which is very good.
Also, May 5th patch on May 12th! Heck yeah! Speedy!

Went well. AoD is still M.I.A., though.

Hey there, i’m interested in buying a FP5 from Congstar, Germany and as i need this update for the support of my hearing aids, i would like to ask if someone knows if this update has been deployed by Congstar already?

Regards,

Peter

Not yet for ja!mobil which uses Congstar which uses Telekom DE. There has been only one update since FP5 publish that was delayed with Telekom DE so far, for now I would still hope to get it soon

Hi,

I was wondering if the delay is du to the provider:

Will the update be available on my FP5 when removing the Sim-cards?

When having 2 sim cards from different providers, wat wil be the provider to provide the update?

Ore is this a crazy question?

greetings

Tom

I am still waiting for the update as well, on an FP5 without any SIM.

As far as I’m pursuing this, it’s not. We use Fairphone 5 devices at my workplace. We’re still waiting for a reply about the last delay, FP support is as many know not reachable. But we did get a reply from our account manager of our telecom provider, they say they have no influence on software update releases on smartphones, including Fairphone. I got the same reply in the past from the regular customer support.

I think these are Fairphone internal tests for telecom provider compatibility. As we’ve seen in the past as well, Fairphone has control over this process (when for example this test pipeline was stuck).

By the way, I’m also still waiting for this update, again.

Hello!

It’s nice that there are updates. Unfortunately, after this update, I can no longer connect the FP5 to Wi-Fi networks. It now always says: ‘IP configuration failure.’
Yes, all network connections have been reset multiple times. The device has, of course, also been restarted several times.
How do I fix this? I’m surely not the only one.
Regards,
Mikael

Please try safe-mode to see if it’s not related to some 3rd party problem.

Does this happen for all WiFi networks? Because IP issues sound like a DHCP on the router thingy.

Not sure if that helps, but I have had no issues with WI-FI after the update.
So perhaps, as @UPPERCASE suggested it might be something more specific.

Please let me know if you want me to check any further settings
