I have a Fairphone 6 since last autumn. And using Yallo/Sunrise (switzerland) network for about 4 years.
I did the latest OS update last weekend and all was fine.
But since Tuesday evening, my SIM stopped working. I put a screenshot for better understanding.
I tried almost everything but the whole phone reset. But I restarted many times, did a network reset, etc. I also tried the SIM on an other phone and it is working. I tried a Swisscom SIM on my Fairphone 6, it’s working as well.
I couldn’t find message in this forum about this issue but I could find a few on reddit. It seems to be a sudden incompatibility between Fairphone 6 and Sunrise. And maybe linked to the fact they are stopping 3G (but that sounds weird).
Good to know that it might be the SIM. I’ve planned to go back to my provider tonight, they didn’t want to change it because it’s ok in an other phone. Thank you.
As far as I understood, I cannot enable VoLTE as I cannot access my SIM network settings. You can see it in my screenshot below. It’s the SIM settings and the option is not available (it’s available when I put a working SIM) :
Same issue here, I noticed this morning that my FP6 doesn’t connect to either phone or internet network. Sim card is recognized, but that’s it. No settings available, I can’t try and select the network, the device doesn’t even recognize the phone number.
Did this happen after the latest software update? Did you check your APN settings? Basically latest update changed some parameters and that might have blocked you from connecting. I would restore APN configuration and check the one from the provider.
I had the exact same thing happen. My Fairphone worked just fine with my yallo SIM until around 10.30 am today, then, out of nowhere, I didn’t have any network connection and it said “SIM is locked” in the top left corner, even though I used the correct PIN. I tried restarting, updating and when I tried my Swisscom SIM it worked just fine. I’ll go to a yallo store on the weekend, won’t have time before that. Hopefully a new SIM card will solve the problem. Please report back if possible if you manage to get your hands on a new SIM before the weekend.
I’m going to a shop in a couple of hours and will report back here. Yesterday they told me they will not replace the SIM for free because it’s working on an other phone. But this time I’ll ask them to test with a new SIM on my FP6. Let’s see…
Sometimes VoLTE is provisioned although the setting is not available, depends on the provider.
You can check IMS Status by calling *#*#4636#*#*(best disable Wifi when checking VoLTE.
It says that it’s disabled. But it’s like it detects there’s a SIM card but it doesn’t “connect” to it. No phone number, no info, all settings are empty.
I went to Yallo shop, explained again. She didn’t have a recent SIM to do a test but she gave me a free pre-paid Lebara SIM (same network). I’ve put it in my FP6 and it worked ! Then she accepted to changed my “old” (5 years) SIM for a new one, for free.
Great news! Which shop did you go to? In which city? It may be easier for the rest of us if we go to the same shop, less explaining and justifiying tondo
I have exactly the same issue. My sim is old. It doesn’t work after the latest update on my fairphone 6 anymore. It works on fairphone 4. I am also with yallo.
Hello,
I went to Lausanne shop (in Metropolis center). You can get one through the phone support as far as I understood, and as they can’t test your SIM physically on other phones, they will have to trust you I guess
