After using my FP3+ for over four years i decided to upgrade.i bought a brand new fairphone 4 and Iwould like to be on the safe side regarding privacy. What OS is compatible with fp4 and is there a guide How to install anot os besides android?

The one i personally know is PostmarketOS based on Alpine Linux,
but also “Ubuntu Touch”, “mobian” and “SailfishOS” are possible to install, also linux based…

It is officially sold with e/OS/ in the USA, so I’d expect the highest compatibility there…
I think it might be useful to clarify what we mean by “Android” and what an Operating System (OS) is.

Are these compatible with banking apps? I read somewhere, that alternative os sometimes has problems with banking
on Android, it depend on banking apps,
if bootloader is relocked more apps will be supported.
for some bank, you can use their website, for some others not

on Linux mostly only website are possible,
there are solution (like Waydroid) to support some android apps on linux phones even not all apps…
But i have no experience on this topic.
