Since the update my phone screen keeps lighting up literally every 20/30 seconds, trying to find my face to unlock; while its just lying on my desk and im not using it. It drains the battery, and keeps me awake at night because there is a bright light every few seconds if i dont Flip it over or close the phonecase.
Anyone else with this problem?

Ik heb hetzelfde probleem. Al allerlei functies uitgeschakeld ( bij melding openen, NFC, openen bij oppakken enz.) Heeft allemaal niet geholpen. Lijkt inderdaad aan de update te liggen
I have the same problem. Already disabled all kinds of features ( open on notification, NFC, open on pick-up etc) Has all not helped. Seems to be due to the update indeed.

yes, i also noticed this. it´s especially annoying when the fp5 is lying screen up on my desk in the evening, the screen lights up for no reason and checks for face unlock. although not in a 30 second rythm, it´s every few minutes. my guess would be it´s related to the a15 update.
Same problem since have upgraded my phone 5 to Android 15. First I tried apps taking off from background tasks. That did not help. I turned off the face recognition / fingerprint on awake the phone. That was also not tthe solution for me. Now I wait for a solution from the Android makers of the Fairphone version.

I have the same issue since Android 15 update. My screen turns on every 10 seconds or so. I’ve been trying to find a fix for the issue online, since Fairphone hasn’t responded yet in over a month.
I’ve made a strange discovery that might also help others: if I remove my phone from my bookcase cover, the issue no longer occurs. I’ve checked if the cover presses any buttons but that isn’t the case. Also, it doesn’t matter if the cover contains any cards with nfc or not.

Can you describe it in more detail, such as materials, magnet, other contents?
I use a flip case (leather, magnetic hasp, no other contents but the phone and plastic shell case) but I have not encountered the problem. I have never used Face Unlock.

It’s not real leather, has a plastic casing for the phone, it does have a magnet for keeping it closed. No other contents.

I had the problem since I bought my flip case in December 2025 (when I already had installed Android 15).
Can anybody say that this is only a Android 15 problem? Or is this problem known in Android 14 or other devices?
