Notification Drawer Not Disappearing

Hi everyone, I just got a Fairphone 6 and I love it, I just have a small issue with my notification drawer and I was wondering if I’m the only one facing it.

Whenever I pull it all the way down to access the quick settings, I’m unable to pull it back up to make it disappear. It glitches a bit and then pulls itself all the way back down, and I have to either open an app or pull it up repeatedly like a madman to exit it.

Anyone knows what could be the cause? Thanks!

I’m having the same problem, I think it’s a new bug introduced with the latest update.

Having the same problem

No problem here (FP6.QREL.16.82.0)

I’m facing the same issue too.

Have the same issue occasionally.

I’ve been facing the same issue since the latest update.

I’ve not seen this problem yet.

I’m wondering whether it might be caused by the presence of a specific tile or permanent notification.

Edit - Question for all: does this happen with Gesture and/or with 3-button navigation?

I have the Spotify tile there, I still have to test it without no applications.

I’m experimenting the issue both with gestures and 3-buttons navigation bar.

I have the same problem.

I have the same problem on my Fairphone 6 16 (FP6.QREL.16.82.0).

I’ve noticed it happens when I have the notification media play running (YouTube Music) but not all the time.

Same here, most probably since the latest update. Here’s hoping a hotfix comes soon.

For such no hotfix will come, this will be fixed with an official Google certified update

Hi everyone,

Since the Android 16 update, I’ve been experiencing an issue with the Quick Settings panel (the second swipe-down panel showing toggles like airplane mode, flashlight, etc.).

When swiping up to close this panel, it does not retract properly — it feels unresponsive or snaps back down. The notification panel (first swipe) works fine and closes without any issue.

Workaround: swiping up very slowly from the bottom of the Quick Settings panel seems more reliable, but it’s not a proper fix.

This issue did not occur before the Android 16 update, so it appears to be a gesture sensitivity regression introduced by the update.

Hope this gets flagged for a future fix. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello and welcome to the community forum.

What you’ve described seems similar to this topic, so I have moved your post here.

Yep experiencing this one myself too

I have this problem as well after installing the latest update FP6.QREL.16.82.0. Really frustrating. A bug like this after also experiencing the slowdown that came to my FP4 before with Android 15 really makes me wonder if I can ever trust Fairphone for software.

Hi, I have the same issue since the last update (I use gesture navigation). I have the same workaround as @Nico_R , I swipe up very slowly. But it’s really frustrating.

Edit: I hid the media player notification by long pressing it (the one that is always there after using my local music app, or qobuz…) and it works now. Thanks @keepitsimplekrissy !

Hi all,
I am also experiencing the issue of the notification drawer not disappearing when fully drawn. Hopefully this bug can be fixed quickly, as it is really annoying in everyday use.

Same issue here! This only happens when the media player shows up and I have to either try multiple times to push it back up or lock and unlock the phone
