(FYI: For now this problem seems to be solved however since I’ve only recently bought my fairphone 4 it is still a case of try-it-and-see).
I’m leaving this post here just in case it helps anyone else out in the UK who is using the three network via a sim and either can’t get mobile signal at all or just text and/or no mobile internet.

But no matter what I tried I could not get my fairphone 4 to connect to the three mobile network here in the UK.
The good news? I think I’ve fixed it. The bad news? I don’t know if it really is fixed - !
Here’s what I did.
1 - The first thing I found I had to do is to manually input APN settings. I found these here:
(Unfortunatly I can’t verify if these really did make things work I’m not sure). Once I did that I then found I could send and receive texts but no mobile internet.
The next thing I found out? If you go to your home page on android and then pull down the screen and then pull it down again you’ll find a little box in the top left of the screen. It is labelled internet, tap that and a box should appear with different settings for wifi and mobile internet. I found mine was set not to use mobile internet in that box even if I went into settings/network and internet (or settings/network and internet/sims) and set the option in there!
Only other thing I can think of is to just leave the phone on and try using it every now and then.
Hopefully this helps someone else out here if you have a FP4+3 SIM Card with no signal at all or no mobile internet!
