Actually I was caught by a very annoying malfunction, which has been described rarely here and here,
The eSIM looses the connection and there is an exclamation mark in both(!) field stregth triangels in the status bar. Reeboot won’t help, flight mode won’t help, the only workaround is to disable and enable the eSIM. This happens sometimes one time a day, sometimes every few minutes, and dis- and enabling the SIM while driving a car is no fun.
The phone worked well for three years with a SIM by puremobile (a vodafone brand), and an eSIM by Vodafone. Now I got a new eSIM by Telekom, this causes the error. I reinstalled the eSIM without the physical SIM inserted, but after reinserting, the problem happened again.
The provider, as always, says, the problem must be the phone, not the eSIM.
The funny thing (if there is one) is, that the Internet status screen shows “connected”, while in the background the exclamation mark is spotable.
The “solution” in one of the above mentioned posts was to buy a Fairphone 5, the other one had no solution. So my question: does anyone have a clue, ho to solve it, or any kind of evidence, that this is a provider problem (this seems quite obvious to me, because it started with the new provider).
