Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my experience after updating my Fairphone 4 to LineageOS 22.2 (April 2025 nightly). Since the update, I’ve been experiencing severe internet connectivity problems:
- Wi-Fi: The phone shows as connected to Wi-Fi, but there is no actual internet access in any browser or app.
- Mobile data: 4G/5G shows as connected, but again, there is no internet connectivity.
- I have tried all typical troubleshooting steps: forgetting/re-adding Wi-Fi networks, toggling airplane mode, resetting network settings, checking APN and DNS, restarting the router, and even ADB workarounds. Nothing has resolved the issue.
- Other devices on the same Wi-Fi (laptop, other phones) work perfectly, so it’s not a router or provider problem.
- The problem started immediately after the 22.2 update. LineageOS 22.1 was stable and had no such issues.
- Downgrading to 22.1 seems to require a full factory reset and data loss, which I would like to avoid if possible.
From searching the web and forums, it seems I am not alone-other Fairphone 4 users are reporting similar problems after the 22.2 update[2].
If you’re on 22.1 and rely on your phone’s connectivity, I strongly recommend waiting before upgrading to 22.2.
If anyone has found a solution or workaround that does not involve a full wipe/downgrade, I’d love to hear it!
Otherwise, I hope this helps others avoid the same frustration.
Thanks!
