Is it possible to unbrick a FP5

Is there a way to unlock, reset and restore a brand new FP5 that does not boot if not in fastboot and display “status devices: locked” or I have to be punished for simple stupid forgotten flag and put the bricked "fair"phone on the trash ?
fastboot devices gives me nothing…

It’s a shame that to move my owns apps and their data (and not every data) to another phone I HAVE TO USE softwares that required a procedure that if not performed exactly right it could not only rest my own phone but lock it forever.
Is there a working alternative to TitaniumBackup or SwiftBackup or NeoBackup that does not require rooting?
Is there a safe rooting procedure?
Thats the way some company produce leakdata and ewaste !! Nothing seems fair to me…

Did you do some reading and search in the forum?

Did you try to boot into recovery perform a factory reset or try to boot into system multiple times?

I dont understand what you want to say with this

Without root no full back-up with one tool.

*Thanks for confirming me that a “full” backup is impossible wit a tool on an unrooted fairphones.

Of course I’ve googoled and looked for some instruction before asking here but actualy my phone boots only in fastboot and seems not accept any command.
My question is: is there an emergency procedure to reset the phone (i.e. key combo to put it in download mode and load a stockrom?)? If all the instruction keeps to invite to select a flag on a developer menu let me say that I can not access developer menù if I can not boot the system wich has this menù on my phone.

I know that fairphone is not the only brand with the same issue but if a shame is shared is not a smaller shame
IMHO it is a shame build and sell in Europe a device that needs a bootable operating system to fix issue on the software\configuration or let the device to became ewaste considering that this situation is forced (by the above requirement*)
It is only a little bit bigger shame call a device “fair” with this defective by design (common) feature…
…but please let me understand that I’m wrong and show me how to retore a locked FP5 (maybe with official free support or guide)

I linked it above, so please have a look

If the linked emergency procedure is boot in fastboot and send the comand “fastboot oem allow-flashing” I confirm you that is not valid. (fastboot devices gives me no device)

If you can not see your device then check if you have the correct drivers installed and it is in fastboot mode. You should see it.

Or try different cable, USB Ports. Did you download adb/fastboot on your PC, which PC system do you use? Do other fastboot commands work?

Same port, cable, pc, system I can read a device if connected another smartphone but with FP5 “adb devices” (as mentioned before) does not see nothing

sure adb devices will not see anything as you cant enable USB debugging, so you need fastboot and fastboot devices.

Well and same with other devices doesnt tell too much, try different cable and ports and what PC system are you using, for windows you def might need to update drivers.

Depending on the bootloader you may try

fastboot oem allow-flashing

Well thats what we discuss here since post#2…

So there is not more what we have to discuss about.

If

fastboot oem allow-flashing

works, you are fine - otherwise the FP5 have to be unlocked by EDL at cordon.

After a good number of attemp I’ve been able to obtain a feedback with “fastboot devices”.
The instruction found here and on some link here are wrong.
I was able to restore FP5 and for this reason I want to give my opologis to the Fariphone team (I was thinking that like other brand they do not allow restore of a phone after a mistake).
I’m very sorry.

By the way the right solution that I want to share is:
fastboot unlock_critical
(instead of fastboot oem…)

and the download from fairphone the stock rom and execute flash_fp5_factory.command
(instead of read it and use wrong manual command)

all goes ok and smooth

What instruction here is wrong?

Btw. This

is clearly documented in Fairphones official instructions to manually install their FPOS.

How could you unlock the bootloader whem oem unlocking was not enabled in the developer settings or are you saying you unlocked only critical while oem unlocking was still disabled and you could still use your macOS to install FPOS manually?

Read what and which wrong command?
