How to disable mobile data with a toggle button?

Can someone guide me how can I activate the “Mobile Data” on/off toggle button inside the Quick Settings set of buttons, which appear when you slide from Top to Bottom. I see many different buttons I can use: Bluetooth, Internet, Airplane Mode, DND, Auto rotate, Flashlight, Hotspot, etc.
However, I cannot find “Mobile Data” button in that list.

Anyone knows how to activate it, or is this feature missing in FairPhone 5?

I first thought “Internet” button would help, but if I toggle the Mobile Network switch - then it disables everything: data, calls and SMS. And it is not what I want.

Here is a similar button inside Huawei phone:

Thank you very much for your help.

I think the problem here is that you are on Airplane mode. To make the “Mobile data” button usable, Airplane mode needs to be switched off.

“Do Not Disturb” might also interefere.

I am not on a airplane mode. If you are referring to my previous screenshot - it is not from Fairphone, it was an example from Huawei.

And with FairPhone, I am NOT in the Airplane mode, and I still don’t see the Mobile Data button, neither in the default view, nor in the list of available buttons, when I enter the Edit mode.

Do you have “Mobile data” button on your FairPhone?

I just checked on an FP5 running Fairphone OS (the default OS the device comes with) and there does not seem to be a “Mobile Data” button, neither in the default selection nor in the editable list. I think you can only control this via “Internet”.

On my daily driver FP3+ running a different operating system (/e/OS), I do have the option to add “Mobile Data” to the selection.

Tap the pen-icon on the bottom, there you can modify all quick-setting-tiles.

Yes, I know how to edit, I mentioned that in my previous messages.
The problem is that in the list of all the buttons, there is no MOBILE DATA option, and @urs_lesse also confirmed that.
I am a new user of FP and I am surprised such a simple setting is missing in the Quick Button.

Yes, confirming what @urs_lesse said, you need to click twice and access mobile data option via internet option. I believe it’s the new Android thing.

Even if you use the pen to edit the options, it will not change it.

But if you toggle off mobile data, calls and messages should still get through.

Ps. You need a longer tap to access those

Yes, I understand that mobile data can be switched off somewhere deep in the settings.
But it is not an efficient way if I want to switch off the mobile data often during the day.

My question was not how to switch off the mobile data, but how can I activate this toggle as a Quick Button.

Not possible anymore on stock Android since version 13, as far as I remember.

This split buttons dont exist since A12 there is only the combined internet button for mobile data and wifi, and there is not need to go deep into settings just upon with the arrow

Edit: for further info even if for FP4

Using controls in your screenshot it is not possible to disable mobile data only. If I click the toggle then I will also switch off the Netwrok, i.e. calls and SMS.
In order to switch off the data only, I need to click into the settings of Mobile network, and switch off “Mobile Data” there.
However, it is not very efficient if I want to switch off and on mobile data multiple times during the day.
I hope Android will bring this Quick Switch in the future versions.

Ah yes you are correct sorry didnt look properly. So we are back to, what you want does not exist anymore and you would have to contact FP support to send a feature request

Single tap to Internet tale and single tap on switch right of Mobile provider only disable mobile data for me (this is also writen under provider name) ;-)

I try right now on my FP5 with stock FPOS A14.:
Calling (of course for sure before test i disable WifiCalling) and SMS (don’t use RCS Chat) still work without problem…

If you still want separated Wifi and Mobile tile and have your FP5 rooted, you can try:

Yeah, just wanted to echo this; you only need two taps (Internet quick tile and mobile data switch) to toggle off data, and only data (not all mobile connection). I’m not sure if OP got that initially, since they said they were aware there was a toggle “deep in the settings”.

I agree that the option for a split button would be nice, but I think this combination makes more sense for less tech savvy users. As in: it shows clearly if you have any kind of Internet on, regardless of the origin.

Thank you very much for everyone sharing ideas and I did test the “INTERNET” Quick Button in more details. Actually I found out that if if you switch off “Internet” button, it is still possible to call and write SMS. So it that button only switches off Mobile Data and Wifi. But mobile network is still active.
Sorry for all the confusion, as I believed the “Internet” button somehow disables everything. Not sure why.

Before I answer: Why do you want to switch off Mobile Data?

In order not to have internet.

Maybe Airplane-Mode is what you’re looking for, it’ll disable every kind of wireless data-transmission.

1-Click Workaround: How about the “Data Saver” button? Would that work for you (after some configuration)?
