my problem is that my FP5 (5G) does not connect to my car any more. It has been working without trouble for more than one year and since a few months it does not work any more. It is driving me crazy.
When I connect the phone to the car, the phone obviously recognises the connection at first, always. Then, it either shows in the little battery symbol that it is charging and after approx. 5seconds stops to charge completely. Sometimes, the phone additionally shows an error message that it cannot connect android auto (see picture). But sometimes there is no message at all, completely random to me.
Here some facts:
- Android 15, up to date
What I already tried:
- delete FP from Car system bluetooth connections, reconnect
- clear cache and data from android auto, reboot phone
- change cable. now I have a 0.5m high end cable USB-A to USB-C. My wife’s samsung works nicely with that cable with my car with android auto
- I connected to a rental car in my vacation (Toyota) with android auto (but wireless) and it worked without any issues
- I completely removed and re-installed android auto from my fairphone
- Following an advice from google AI, I went into developer mode and changed the standard USB connection to “data transfer”. I also checked that USB debugging is disabled.
- I even ordered a spare USB port (module) at fairphone and replaced the USB port following the video instructions. charging works, only android auto still does not work, same issue before and after the port replcement.
Hopefully you have some fresh ideas for my problem. I have the feeling that I have already tried a lot and nothing helped. Please help.
