FP3 getting slower

My FP3 has gotten slower the last couple of months, and some apps crash from time to time (Teams, Outlook, Simplenote etc). Maybe it’s because of an upgrade, I don’t keep track of those things. Still - I thought a Fairphone would last longer than the four years I’ve used it. That’s not much better than the iphones I’ve had.

Fairphone performance after 2-3 years

I’d recommend to have a look at how full her phone storage is by now. Often laggy app performance results from a crammed full storage that doesn’t leave enough wiggle room for apps anymore. On a Fairphone (but probably also in other Android phones), you can look this up in Settings > Storage. This might be a less radical approach than just resetting the phone altogether.

If this issue wasn’t there from the start, a factory reset should be able to clean this up.
The factory reset would delete your data, the Apps you installed and their data as well as user settings. After a reboot the phone would start with the initial user setup again, as it was at the very beginning.
The OS is left untouched and stays the same. It can be reinstalled as a step further in case a factory reset isn’t enough to remedy the issue.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a lot of storage left, and don’t use an SD card, so then only the factory reset is left. I’ll try that when my patience has worn out…
