Fairphone OS & Fairphone Open 23.02.0-rel.0 are now available. You can get them through the Updater. This is the final release for Fairphone 2, as software support is ending.

That’s not really necessary anymore, I’d say. Rather “Please live with any (new) issues” from now on…
Anyway, thanks for supporting this device for such a long time! The update went smooth again, no (new) issues so far.

  • Is there a roadmap or a plan for how long the FPs after no. 2 will be officially supported?
  • Is there an overview of mobile OSes there are?
    Maybe also which run on the FP2?
    Additionally, maybe which don’t inherit (?) from Android?

The second did only pop up after rechoosing the search string…
And yes, I typed ”#oslist“ first, then I ”Strg+Click“ed on the link in your post (15:30).

It’s a pity that you do not support FP OS anymore. From my point of view, this is not a sustainable decision. I have the phone since 5 years and want to go longer. But no support means, that I have to think about an other solution.

Does that include installing an alternate OS ?

Well, yes of course. I am thinking about Lineage OS but I have to first to learn how to do it.
