FP 5 - Default camera-app not working under Android 14

Hi there,

since updating my FP5 on Android 14 my default camera does not work properly any longer.
Pics are no longer available in Google’s Photo-App and the panorama-mode for example does not work at all.

Usually I would deinstall an reinstall this app but I do not know, where to get this very app for download.

So, dear community:
where could I download this app for my FP5?
Any suggestions for an even better camera-app? (Open camera is awesome but for example does not take advantage of the wideangle lens…).

Thanks for help and have a wonderful sunday!

I dont think you even can deinstall this App. However what you can try is deleting cache and storage of the App under settings-Apps

I’m also using Android 14 and the stock camera app but everything seems OK (I don’t use Google Photo but I’ve just tried the panorama mode).

Have you tried yvmuell’s suggestion about cleaning cache and storage?

Ciao,
Max

Hi there,
thanks for Your answers - I deleted storage and cache, started the FP5 anew but unfortunately it changed nothing.

It’s not just that the pics do not appear in the Google app - after taking a photo with the stock camera, a thumbnail appears in the camera-app left below the main frame, but touching it does not show the pic taken but only a black screen…

I guess you might be hit by this bug then?

@Rabendoktor from thread yvmuell post, you can try “reinstall” “workaround”

Yessss - that’s exactly what I experience - but after my FP5 and the stock camera-app served me well for a pretty long time… trouble started 2 weeks ago…

It was my first idea to reinstall but where to get the app?

Please see the link to the other topic @k3dAR provided above.

Weird it started with the A14 update…

Thank You, Yvonne, Max and k3dAR!

So I’ll (re-)install ADB and try my best… it’s been a while I last flashed a phone…

Hi there again,

after installing ADB on my Mac and connecting Mac/FP5 via USB I am not able to change the USB-settings in the FP.

Of course USB-debugging is enabled, but the settings for the USB-connection are set on “no file-transfer” and cannot be changed as they are grey… .

How to proceed?

THANKS for Your help!

… turned out to be a prob of the connection - another cable helped to connect both.
Weird - both Anker, same type - same date of purchase - one worked, one failed.

And the workaround worked like a charm with the second cable.

Thanks to You all answering in this thread!
