Today I managed to connect the Fairphone 4 to my Windows 10 PC. It displayed the contents and folders, which hadn’t happened before (due to a bad cable or incorrect settings?)
>File transmission for usb was managed by Fairphone by default and usb has been used for file-transmission, also by default. I had nothing changed in the settings to handle that.
Probably an early update in Windows or Android made it possible for Windows to see Android..(?)
-Gradually, Windows was able to read more content, and eventually I managed to move 37 of the 178GB of photos and videos, or so I thought. Apparently, this data is still on my phone, and my volume is still almost full. It turns out that the 37GB was copied to my external hard drive, but almost all of them are videos, although it didn’t copy most of the videos. Does anyone recognize this problem and how can I fix it?
-Online sources recommend transferring these photos using Google’s Photo Editor on pc because it’s also safer for the file metadata, but I don’t know how to do that. I don’t see that option in the editor at all. When I click Import in that app (i.e., in Windows), I only see my connected external drive and not my smartphone, which my computer can see. I don’t quite understand this.
-Ideally, Fairphone had an app for this kind of things, but from what I can find online, it doesn’t seem to exist. The recommended app is Quick-Share. Does anyone have experience with this?
-For now, I’m not using SD for this transfer anymore because it seems to work directly. I’d also like to hear your opinion on this.
Since Win 7 windows has all drivers for the most of rhe smartphones on the market, probably, as i could read, also for Fairphone 4 .. (?)
