FairPhone webshop not working?

Hello, is it just me or is the FairPhone webshop not functioning?
I tried to order a replacement case and when I want to pay I get to the page with the address to send it to again and again… Tried different products and the same happens.

There’s a recent topic in German with I think exactly the same problem as yours: 🇩🇪 Ist der Fairphoneshop down?

For that person it seems the problem somehow just resolved itself after trying again a day later. Which isn’t much of a help in case the problem persists for you when trying again and again.

Some general things you might want to try out: use a different browser, delete cookies, use a private/incognito tab.
In addition, I think I remember once having seen a post with the suggestion to log into the shop account at the latest possible moment, but I can’t find that anymore. Or maybe it even was the other way around. Maybe it’s worth a try to put the item into your shopping basket before you logged in or afterwards (depending on which alternative you used to far).

Had the same problem a few days ago. Changing OS and browser didn’t help. I then noticed that on the top left of the “Delivery” page it indicated that there were several alternative shipment addresses. They seemed to have accumulated with my multiple attempts. After deleting them all I could get to the next page (payment) and complete the order.

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately it doesn’t solve the problem for me. When I want to continue to the next page, it does actually add my address again, so it will accumulate like that all over again. I also checked with the FairPhone customer service, but that will likely take a little bit before I get a response. If there’s anyone with other helpful tips please join!

It seems that the problem is persistent at least for a few people judging from a German thread linked.

I just had a look and could seemingly complete the payment (didn’t really want anything so I cannot be 200% sure).

My steps:

  1. opening the browser (chrome in this instance). Because of some kind of glitch it usually identifies me as being based in Netherlands. I usually change it back to Poland (there is a flag icon in the upper corner)
  2. I am logged on.
  3. I add the product to the cart and proceed to checkout
  4. It suggests the delivery methods based on my addresses stored
  5. I have three payment options - paypal, google pay and a card. When choosing paypal and google pay, I have a pop up window coming up to process the payment

For obvious reasons I have not followed that up

Recently when purchasing something from the shop, the notification was sent to my other email address - it turned out there are three contact sections stored: shipping, billing and account information. I was not able to update the account information easily and I don’t remember what finally worked - was it via a mobile app or a web browser

I understood from the threads the issue is with the payments - there are no pop-up windows then?

Hi, my VAT number is ok and seems to be recognized by the system … and I’ve already ordered my FP5 last month with this account. But since friday, impossible to order a new screen protector + case.
By checking out, delivery mode choosen, when I click “Next step” … nothing happens.

No answer from FP support team since Fiday (Request #1275720), no chat available, no phone number … no alternative to buy a new screen protector elsewhere.
I knew that choosing FP was a kind of vocation (since I chose to drive EV cars) … but I’m starting to get a bit nervous.
Does somobody please have a solution ? :pray:

With FairPhone being a Dutch company, last Friday being a public holiday there, I think that is why the chat was unavailable. I’ll try tomorrow (chat should be open on Thu and Fri) if I can get more information about what is wrong.

Hello everyone.
After several days and unsuccessful attempts to order a spare part with my company account, I have now come across the following:

If I remove my tax ID on the account information, I suddenly get back to the payment. Previously, my delivery address was also displayed in full and my billing address was only two lines, so it seemed like something was bugged. Apart from that, I didn’t get to payment even once, so apparently the tax ID has something to do with it.
I only get my spare part more expensive this way, which of course I don’t necessarily want.
The best thing about it: I can no longer enter my tax ID in the DEXXXXXXXXXXX format. I always get an error message. In any case, I did not suddenly change the tax ID and try to enter it as before.
At least I now know what the problem is. Perhaps the website wants the tax ID to be formatted in a certain way or something similar, i don’t know yet.

after several failures last week, the shop worked for me today (from germany) after deleting all but one of the accumulated addresses. good luck!

After 1 week and many many tries … It worked !!

Wow… I managed! I removed ALL the addresses actually, I’m going to pick up the package from a drop off point anyways, and it worked.
Still not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but hey… Thanks for letting me try this again today at least!

The only way to make it work for me was to NOT login at all and manually fill in all the forms
