Since 1-2 months, my Fairphone 6 powers off ometimes randomly throughout the day and almost every time when connecting to a cable for charging. Also a couple times throughout the day the screen gets black and I can only use the navigation bar on the top and nothing else. Pressing the power button to lock it and then unlock it sometimes gets rid of the black screen but only on the 2-4 try. The Fairphone eMail support just said I should power my device on and off and if it doesn’t resolve my issue i should reset it - which I will definitely not do

I would imagine the CS asked you to run some tests - have you been able to identify any issue or at least narrow it down?
I guess you know that sending a phone for repair would de facto mean the factory reset and still that may be your best option now
if the issue is with charging, you might consider swapping the USB port, if with the display, checking all the connectors, etc.
You might find contacting a local Angel also a good idea

The only test I should do and did consistent of:
Checking network connection issues
Boot in safemode
Test different SIM
The last step provided is a factory reset.
I don’t know if I want to buy a new usb port just to then find out that it didn’t resolve the issue.
One easy thing you can try is disabling 5G in Network settings. 4G is usually much less prone to reboot phones. Some 5G towers are very good at it.
Maybe this is totally wrong, but it doesn’t cost you anything and it may help.

I changed the setting yesterday. Sadly the issue is still there.
Your phone isnt rebooting or completely truning off as far as I undestand? Its seems the screen/phone is unresponsive, correct? Overall I guess you might have found the reason which is charging? So did you try with different cable and different charger?
No the phone is booting normally, you can also manually restart and turn it off. But sometimes especially when plugged in, the phone powers off itself completely (screen goes black) and I have to press the power button long (like when you turn it off completely manually) to start it again after that the boot animation plays like normally.
I tried 2 different chargers and cables and it does the same thing

I think you should use the repair portal or wait for support. You have different issues that are not normal
