Fairphone 6 screen getting hot when charging

Hello people,

I have my Fairphone 6 just resent like 1.5 month but I was picking up my Fairphone when charging and around the middle and top of the screen is getting pretty hot! I have slow charging on! So I don’t understand why this happening l! Have more people this problem l? And is there a solution but I think it getting to hot! Tnx

hello, could you say what was the temperature?

You could easily check it in MyFairphoneApp - phone health, but there are also some dedicated apps to measure that

No I don’t have the temperature for you but with touch is was pretty warm/hot!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I understand you are worried.

I cannot help further. My phone (FP5) gets warm from time to time, sometimes more than I would wish for, but I don’t remember it ever gone outside of the limits suggested by FP on their website, please have a look for reference

I have red that but that’s not a solution!

Could you check the temperature with your next charge?
Then we have more information to tell you what to do.

Hi. I have also noticed that high temperature when charging (slow charge). My Fairphone app says 45°C.

Yeah it’s hovering between 40 en 50 Celsius and the top/middle of the screen feels hot!I don’t know we’re the temperature meter is located?

I have the same issue. Now it is charging and the temperature is 44°C according to the My Fairphone app.

I mean… Ok, it can operate at 55C, but it’s not pleasant for a human to hold that. Since I asked for “ECO” charge, can’t it maybe charge a bit slower and target a lower temperature? Or perhaps it cannot differentiate between outside and inside temperature, which means you must allow for some headroom at any plausible temperature?

My phone has the same issue. When I am charging from ~20% to 80%, the phone heats up to ~45°C according to the My Fairphone app.

I am using the original Fairphone charger on slow charging speed (20W?) and charge limit to 80%.
