Fairphone 6 double tap to wake doesn't work reliably

As the title says. I tried AoD (“Alsays show time and info”) on/off, changing refresh rate, touch sensitivity. Nothing seems to solve this issue. I used this feature a lot on my old phone, so it’s very annoying that it’s not working reliably on the FP6. It’s probably the worst issue with FP6 I faced so far. I’d be ok with using unlock button instead. But it’s hard to press as it’s flat with the case and touching it tends to unlock the phone instead of waking it. If you know what could help please share. If you know some comfortable alternative please share as well. How do you wake up your phone?

For now I think I’ll have to use Pick up to wake, but it’s less comfortable.

Best is to inform support so that FP can work on the software end to improve this. May I assume its worse when lying flat?

I reported to support.

I wouldn’t say flat or inclined surface makes any difference.

A post was split to a new topic: :fr: FP6 La fonction « Tap to wake » n’est pas fiable

On the FP5 there is. a setting to prevent this, its called fingerprint unlock behaviour.

I can confirm that it doesn’t work

Hello,

I have this issue sometimes. It’s seems that screen is not sensitive enougth

I’m on FP5 and it never worked reliably too (for me).

A workaround would be to stop thinking in terms of “double tap” and start thinking in terms of “multiple tap”.

I mean that if I double tap my FP5 wakes up 50% of times but if I start with a TAPTAPTAPTAPTAP sequence after 5-6 taps it wakes up around 90% of times.

Maybe two taps are not always enough…

Ciao,
Max

I tested it now for a day and its not perfect however compared to the FP5 very good. Sometimes it works with 1st double tap often with the 2nd double tap.

I also feel like it got better since I tested it on day 1 of owning FP6. Perhaps software update improved it. But it still sometimes ignores double tap.
