Hi,
I am using at the Moment the original one, but the Display will Not BE save by dropping IT with this case.
If you use abpop Socket and lay IT in the Display Side IT will BE damaged If you do nor use a Display Safeglass or Foil.
I have one transparent Version also, that IS much better for Display Security
I got a bit lost since other cases were mentioned as well. I had hoped the case had been updated in the meantime. Too bad it hasnât, Iâll look for another case when I buy the FP5.
I donât like typing with the phone on itâs back, and the wobbling distracts me (Iâm a little bit peculiar ). But all in all a pop socket is amazing.
So the pop socket works fine with the clear Amazon casing as well? I have the FP3 now and the popsocket is just attached to the phone which is super secure.
Yes, I have only been using popsockets and rings attached to the cases. Now I have a tudia case and had been a bit worried as the case is textured but it works fine:)
I am ordering my FP 5 now and was reading a lot here.
So this thread looks like a Bark fits the criteria on safety and less plastic, yet not transparency (i know itâs wood). The other option could be a Biowaves Case but I donât know about the heigth (safety) and it is not transparent. What I donât want to buy is a cheap transparent case although this would be a criterium. I was fine with the FP3 bumper but I hasnât been continued. But hate to see my transparent phone getting clothed.
Just tried the Biowaves case around my phone (it had just arrived before my wifeâs phone will arrive later this week) and Iâm impressed how well it fits, how good it feels in my hands, how well it protects both the cameras and the screen and at the same time the phone doesnât seem to be much bigger. The phone can lie on a table without wobbling over the cameras and you donât need to worry about the cameras being scratched by something on the table. The only downside indeed is that with it my phone is not transparent anymore and the phone cannot be recognized as Fairphone anymore easily.
But also the volume buttons work well (much better than with the case that my wife used on her previous phone) and the fingerprint reader is accessible without limitations. That really makes me think if I should get myself one, too, but then my felt sleeve wonât fit well anymore (maybe it could be widenedâŚ). Not easy if youâre not so much in putting stuff away that is still good actuallyâŚ
Disclaimer: I havenât tried any case for the FP5 before and my FP2 didnât require one anyway. So my experience is limited.
The case and the protector donât interfere in any way, but the case still gives some extra space when putting the phone display down onto a table. So it definitely protrudes beyond such a display protector. I can take a photo of the combination, but taking photos of my mobile takes more effort as I canât easily use my phone for that
I got a Tudia case as well (for the ârougherâ days like hiking, building,⌠where I wouldnât want to damage/dirty my Bark Sweden case).
I agree itâs very good, fits snugly, seems extremely rugged with its two layers of case (flexible and hard) and gives a good grip as well.
The Tudia case is really a sturdy case. This weekend, my Fairphone flew out of the smartphone holder of an e-scooter while I was driving. The impact was really massive and I feared the worst. Luckily, only the case is pretty scratched, but the smartphone itself is still intact.
Iâm quite disappointed with the official FP5 protective case (black): not only it doesnât have raised edges to protect the screen, but I feel itâs also very slippery, especially for my short fingers.
One addition about the Biowaves case: My wifeâs phone was happy to have been in that case when it dropped onto the tiled floor of a bathroom, but the case had to put the energy somewhere, so a piece of the case broke off. Biowaves responded quickly and sent a replacement which has survived one more drop onto parquet floor since then. You may imagine a tiny crack somewhere close to where it touched the ground, though. @breversa I canât say anything about how slipperly the Biowaves case is compared to the original one. But itâs made from degradable plastic which has a âdryâ feeling in the hand, not like rubber which tends to feel sweaty if youâre holding it for a while. For additional safety my wife uses the HangHub adapter to connect a strap to the case which works well.
@breversa I have never had an official FP case nor Biowaves, so I can only comment on Tudia.
It is one of the best cases I had, very nice feeling, perfect alignment, but it is also too heavy for my everyday personal use. It is then not only about dimensions, but more about the weight. I have not managed to get proper info on weight (home scales are not precise enough, but it got tiresome).
The dimensions I got are 12 mms width and 166 mm length- the pictures attached
Following the previous posts and the query of @mate1 I got myself a case from B2C Telecom, but not the book/stand-up case you asked about, but the simple back cover. It feels nice, with good alignment for microphones and alike, and lightly raised edges - please see the pictures
Edit. Edited to add that the Telecom case is a bit loose by the edges (perhaps due to the material or because I have sticked the USB port protector inside). Regardless the reason, itâs loose enough to allow sone dust/sand/etc inside. It hasnât scratched the phone case but still not so recommendable for outdoors.
