I’m writing this post because someone made a reddit post because their FP6 android version didn’t allow them to use the id-check option on the DigiD App.
I’m using e/os/ 3.7, and I thought it worked for me, but now when I try to, it gives me the same message, “Dit apparaat voldoet niet aan de eisen van de id-check. Probeer het met een andere telefoon”.
Either I’m misremembering that it worked for me before, something has changed, or it never worked at all on the FP6, but as it doesn’t say why exactly it’s not working it’s hard to know what to do.
I asume your bootloader is unlocked? In that case your device feels not safe enough for DigiD, and you need a tool like Magisk. I am using it for ABN Amro app, creditcard and DigiD on Fp3 LOS 22.2
When I tried to relock the bootloader, I thought it had worked and I set up my phone, installed all the apps etc. only when I restarted I realized that the relocking hadn’t worked, but I didn’t try again because I didn’t feel like setting my phone up again.
Is it possible to make an image of my entire phone which I can then apply after relocking? And is it safe to relock? I’ve had some people say that it might brick my phone.
Only if the OS version that you are locking has the same or newer Android Security Patch Level than the previously-installed OS. Otherwise rollback protection will kick in and your phone will bootloop. The only way to get it fixed is sending it back to Fairphone for repair.
Check the flashing instructions on the Fairphone and /e/OS sites, they have more details on the exact requirements.
BTW. in general leaving the bootloader unlocked is a bad idea. It disables Android Verified Boot, meaning that system-level malware, etc. would go undetected. There is a good reason for apps checking for bootloader locking.
