Hello. So I can’t seem to make my FP6 connect with my MacBook via USB. I’ve tried various different cables, some USBC some A. Some of them work in the sense that I can open the option to select “file transfer” by swiping down on the phone (other USBs don’t even offer that option they only charge). However none of them work with Android File Transfer. It always says that the connection was unsuccessful…is there a different app I can use? Is anyone else experiencing this? It’s pretty annoying as I really urgently need to upload some camera footage for work related things. By the way I have the latest system update installed. Grateful for any help from you lovely Fairphone users!!
It’s a long shot, but perhaps there’s something in the thread cannot connect Fairphone 6 e/os to mac that can help you.
An alternative for Android File Transfer is OpenMTP.
Other options are also mentioned here:
Thanks so much both of you. That really helped. I got it to work with OpenMTP. Turned out I also had to change my settings in the image capture app to stop the Photos app from opening automatically as that was blocking OpenMTP. All working fine now. Big thank you for the leads, they took me in the right direction
Solution found, thanks so much for your help!!
