Can't find 6.A.039.4 fastboot image

I am at a bit of a loss here, I have been trying to find the 6.A.039.4 fastboot image for the FP3+ to download but cant seem to find a link anywhere? Just want a downloaded copy before I play with e/OS due to the Security Patch level. Thanks

I guess you already checked https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/18896094650513-How-to-manually-install-Android-on-your-Fairphone because it’s not there yet. I would expect this to show up there any other day.

By the way, have you already OTA installed 039? If you have not, you better do not as that would reduce the risk when switching to /e/OS as the most recent /e/OS version for the FP3 has a lower (older) security patch level.

Thanks for the link - I did check there but didn’t see it.

I haven’t installed the lastest OTA as I see the image I can download has the Aug 25 security patch.

The latest official and community versions of e/OS have a security patch of Sept 25.

My understanding is that if I went to from Stock to e/OS my securty patch level would upgrade from Aug to Sept and to roll back to stock I could use the above image as its Oct 25 patch level.

Is there anyway to recover from a brick due to security patch issues on the FP3+? (I have not searched/looked in to this fully myself yet so please treat this as a thought out loud vs asking you to provide detailed instructions )

From all I know such hard bricks are usually dealt with by Fairphone’s repair contractor Cordon in France, for a fee.

There is an ADB command to check whether you are on the safe side (something like “get unlock ability”), but that’s where my wisdom stops (short of yours probably ). I think as soon as @yvmuell or @Lidwien or someone else notices this topic, they will surely spell it out.

@hamgammon Search here for get unlock ability for the exact command and more details, however as long as you respect the SPL as described above (same or newer) it should be safe.
