I just got my new fairphone 3+ and I’m currently downloading all my social media apps, however when I was looking for Instagram on the Google play store I couldn’t find it. I then Googled it and it said “your device isn’t compatible with this version” . Now I don’t really know what to do, since I really want to download Instagram as an app in my new phone
This is most likely an occurrence of a known bug with the Google Play store. It sometimes occurs after a system upgrade, but maybe it can also happen with new phones.
Can you try:
- Settings
- Apps and notifications
- App info
- Three dot menu
- Show system
- Google Play services
- Storage and cache
- CLEAR STORAGE
- CLEAR ALL DATA
- OK
- CLEAR CACHE
- Go back to the list of apps (tap back twice)
- Google Play Store
- Storage & cache
- CLEAR STORAGE
- OK
Then open the Google Play Store. You may have to give it access to your Google account again because you just erased all its data (your apps and account data are safe, don’t worry) - now, does the app show up?
