Hello and thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to offer
I am in the UK and have recently bought a Fairphone 5, only now I have commissioned it, buying some credit on 3 Network, only, I find I cannot dial out.
I have no problems with thexts, email and WhatsApp - which is also installed on my old phone - now Firefox or otehr apps. Dialling seems the only problem, the screen displays “Calling” The correct name (I am trying to dial my other mobile to check) and the correct number
No tone no fault message, just hangs up displaying “Call ended”.
I posted a request for support and got back a reply that told me it’s between 16 and 18 days to a response! (I am glad I didn’t try to use the phone after breaking down, at night, in some lonely road!!!).
Any idea how I can check what the issue might be?
Thank you!
Perhaps your SIM card is to old.
Check the settings.
Hello and thank you for your reply.
I bought the SIM card the day after I received the Fairphone, just a couple of weeks ago.
Three, a UK-based provider. https://www.three.co.uk/
Could you switch off 5G, to see if that is the problem?
Is there somebody in your neighbourhood who has a different provider? So that you can check if it is possible to call with their SIM card?
Does incomimg calls work? Is VoLTE enabled?
Sorry, I don’t know what that is, which part of Settings is it in?
Sorry I have only just seen this message, thank you for replying. I have now resolved the issue following your and ymuwell’s suggestions (though I had to do a search to find out what VoLTE means
Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate your taking the time!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my request, I did a search to find out about VoLTE, though I couldn’t find it in my Fairphone 5, I did find how to switch on 4G and that resolved the issue.
Thank you so much!
