Pretty much the title.
The annoying part of that is, that after leaving the car for example, it stays connected to the car, and then i don’t have any sound, as it still tries to play the sounds to the car. It is resolved toggling bluetooth off and on again.
Its best to report to support directly.
Found the same issue.
Connected to a bt headset, then switched off the headset, but my Fairphone didn’t disconnect and so no audio was coming out of the speakers.
Manually disconnecting the device did the trick, but it should not work like that.
Same here! Connected my bluetooth earbuds, put them away. The phone shows them as bluetooth disconnected but still wants to route audio through the disconnected bluetooth device. I have to manually switch to the phone audio using the audio toggle setting.
Someone on Reddit is claiming this is fixed by a recent update
Now looking at the Fairphone 6 release notes I see only one update has happened
https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/24463713641234-The-Fairphone-Gen-6-Release-Notes
Current software version
FP6.QREL.15.91.0
Release date: 25 June 2025
Android version: 15
Security patch level: May 2025
Previous software versions
FP6.QREL.15.84.0
Release date: 25 June 2025
Android version: 15
Security patch level: May 2025
I.e. the update from FP6.QREL.15.84.0 to FP6.QREL.15.91.0,
Can anyone confirm this is fixed in FP6.QREL.15.91.0?
It seems like there are three confirmed issues. This Bluetooth glitch, which it seems you can workaround by toggling Bluetooth off and on again, the refresh rate glitch after unlock and some camera improvements. All of which are scheduled to be fixed in the 14th July update.
This makes me more inclined to buy one. I was almost at the point of buying a Samsung XCover 7 Pro but the FP6 has the same CPU (Qualcomm SM7635 Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (4 nm)), but twice the ram and storage. It also seems like the FP6 has more chance of running alternate OSs in future given Fairphone have released all the kernel DTS files. Actually what tempted me to the dark side that is Samsung was that they’re pretty good at producing stable software. Still you can’t fault Fairphone for transparency and being reactive in this case. And July 14th is only about ten days away. Which is pretty quick.
Bluetooth: A few users have reported that the phone stays connected to the last audio source even when it’s turned off, or that there’s some lag during playback. We’ve identified the root cause and have a fix coming in the next software update, which is scheduled for 14 July. Refresh rate and animation slowdown: Some of you mentioned the screen feels slower right after unlocking. We’re actively looking into this and expect to have a fix ready soon. Camera improvements: We’re also working on a few quality-of-life updates for the camera, including better audio quality in video recordings and faster shutter response in standard photo mode.
I have FP6.QREL.15.91.0 installed and experience the issue with bluetooth not “disconnecting” audio.
Thanks. Any chance you can test again just after July 14th? I’m going to buy a FP6 if this release fixes the Bluetooth and adaptive refresh bugs as promised.
I also have FP6.QREL.15.91.0 installed and I’m experiencing the same problem. I hope this will be fixed very soon !
i also have the same error
Hi there,
My FP3 broke down in early June so I was enthusiastic about getting the FP6 at release.
everything is really nice so far. except for this BT thing…
this goes for me even so far that after putting my in- ears into the case for a sec, afterwards when I try to use the same in-ears they say ‘connected’ (FP doesn’t say it’s connected in the BT settings, although the volume bar has the BT symbol on it) and no sound is coming out, either from the phone nor from the in-ears…
and it doesn’t matter what device. car BT system behaves the same.
And yeah, the fix is ‘turn it off and on again’ manually (BT on the FP6)
I really hope they fix this with the update on July 14th.
Will keep you updated.
regards
Naggro
I surely will not be the only one eager for this update!
Should be resolved
worked for me. (my) issue is done. disconnects and connects when it is supposed to.
thanks
