the battary usage settings for apps are being changed without user consent, even when all related settings are (un)checked.
i connect to my car (bmw i4) using wireless android-auto, as this is the only option. The app will on regular basis be killed and restarted causing navigation/music or anything that is running to be interupted untill the app restarts.
This issue is gone if i put the battery usage of android-auto on unrestricted. But as soon as the phone is locked, or even if i leave it open on the screen, the setting will jump back optimized, causing the app to be killed a bit later. This makes effectively android-auto unusable.
I do have the ‘scan app for battery usage’ setting disabled in an attempt to stop this, but without succes. I am willing to provide any logs in order to investigate this, as this issue is driving me nuts for the past year. please let me know which logs to post, and how, as i haven’t dabbled into android development yet.
Hey Tom, just today i got an OS update from the car which promises a 'way more stable connection for carplay/android auto. So i will be trying that first.
I have not yet tried safe mode for android as i did not know of its existance. I will google and try it if the os update did not resolve it.
My charging cable is indeed a usb 3 cable, but as i mentioned, bmw i4 only supports wireless android auto, as stated on their website.
I think i already read the linked article, but i’ll go through it again to double check. I will report back in a few days to report my findings
Thank you for replying and trying to find a solution with me
