Android Auto and the new A15 build for Fp5

Hi team. I have a Fp5 and it has recently been upgraded to Android 15. After upgrading, I have noticed that in Android Auto, if I try to navigate to the menu or switch to another app from the home screen or from maps, it causes the phone to reboot.

Anyone else seen this?

Same here. At first it only rebooted when switching app, now (couple of days after) the phone reboots immediately after connection to Android Auto

I know @yvmuell ,

but if you want to become member of a community it might be an advantage.

Same here. I works if I don’t touch anything. I am using it on my Goldwing using a wireless AA adapter from Motorola. When I try to enter a voice command, the FP restarts immediately.

exactly the same here

Uh, interesting. I was looking forward to seeing how it’ll behave today when I had a shared car. It worked with only the issue that the video disappeared from time to time which seems to indicate a slight issue with the USB plug, but other than that no issues. Didn’t use the voice input though. That probably doesn’t help those who are affected, but it shows that (luckily) this is not a generic problem. And just for the record: In my case it was an Opel Corsa Electric.

I have the exact same issue with build FP5.VT28.C.042.20250623

The battery also constantly drains while using Android Auto

Exactly the same here. Phone is unusable in my car (VW) as long as Android Auto has to be used. Bluetooth tethering works.

I have had the same issue since the Android 15 update and Android Auto. Unfortunately, reinstalling and deleting the car from the Bluetooth settings did not resolve the issue. Whenever I attempt to switch to another app in Android Auto or use voice control, the phone restarts. This is unfortunate, as I use Android Auto frequently.

Bei mir hat ein Werksreset geholfen

Edit yvmuell translation: for me a factory reset solved it

Hello,
Your post has been moved here to a thread specifically about AA and the A15 update on FP5.

So I tried doing a clear data and cache of android auto, and this didn’t fix the issue, so a complete reset must be clearing something else.

Just replying to say: I’m experiencing this too. I’d rather avoid a factory reset if I can. It’s a fair amount of effort to set my phone up exactly how I like it again

I have the same problem as everyone else in this thread.

Is there a way to inform the developers of this bug? Or is posting it here sufficient?

No posting ia not sufficient, a ticket with support is the way to make sure its seen (at least im theory)
