Android 13: Unable to connect to WHOOP

Hello, it looks like Fairphone is aware of these bluetooth connectivity issues and is investigating the problem.

This information was found here : https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/9831446296849-Fairphone-4-Public-Issue-Tracker

Bluetooth connectivity : After the A13 upgrade, bluetooth devices of some brands struggle to connect. → Under investigation

The Android 14 update seems to solve the problem, mine is synching now!

Thanks, I was also able to connect my Whoop band to my FP5 after upgrading to Android 14.

I got a reply from the Fairphone team. The gist of it:

  • it’s an issue in Android 13, not just FP
  • should be fixed with Android 14 (available for FP5, soon/now for FP4)
  • Whoop did not reply when FP reached out to them

Tks for the update, does anyone know an alternative gadget ? I think the problem is due to Whoop who doesn’t respect standards so I prefer find a more serious band, and if possible with an open source app available to avoid this kind of issue in the future.

I don’t understand Whoop, they have so much money but they don’t want to use a little bit of this to solve the issue they created…

I think they are interested in not working too hard for a device used by a small selection of people like FP.

I believe that whoop is the best product on the market without a doubt. I await the release of Android 14 on FP4 to restart with the subscription.

thank you all

Is it possible to get Android 14 on FP 4 yet? Some messages above say it is possible, but I can’t see it as an option on mine and I also cannot connect to my whoop.

Android 14 for FP4 will release in the middle of September

Hi, I don’t think 14 has been released yet has it? I haven’t seen it and I miss my whoop!

Any updates on this? I am now paying several hundred dollars for a whoop subscription that I can’t use! Whoop gave me a break in the subscription but it’s now finished.

I leaved my WHOOP subscription over a year ago. I immediately lost hope for serious technical advice from both of them. I’m waiting for Android 14 on FP4 but the times are getting very long. At this rate I might be forced to sell the phone for a newer version, not exactly in Fairphone’s corporate philosophy.
It would be nice to know if anyone has managed to use Whoop on Android 13.

That is a very good point. Because Fairphone have failed on the update I have a defunct piece of tech sitting in a drawer unused - completely against the Fairphone philosophy! It’s very frustrating and now costing my several hundred dollars in an unused subscription that I can’t cancel.

You can let in “pause” your subscrition. Have you a montly or annual subscrition? If Is a Montly you can stop It and restart when you want.

I bought an annual and I’ve already maxed out my 3 month pause allowance and whoop gave me an extra two months to the subscription (after I pushed to speak to a manager because the first person I was messaging said there was nothing they could do). Overall very disappointing service from both companies. But they have my money so what do they care…
