The camera is upgraded to later model so it is like a “FP3+”
I have not used it for long, because the battery is broken, bulged, and I have another brand spare phone and my main is an FP5.
Currently it boot-loops probably due to the bad battery - even with charger attached.
If anyone wants it for postage (Sweden) plus 30 EUR, just say.
Screen is in good condition, always used with protection.
BTW it runs Murena /e/OS, an now old version, can be updated of course or you can reinstall stock Fairphone OS per some available guide.
Back side is translucent dark smoke.
Note to self: It have a “bumper” that snaps around the edges - but I currently forgot where I put it…
Note 2 to self: I need to temporarily connect a helper cell to battery - i design electronics - so it can boot and clear user data, and maybe I update the OS…
If no one wants it maybe me or the Stockholm angel can take it to stock spare parts. Without the batter as a bulge battery is dangerous. Is it in GBG, STH or any other place?
I realised this morning that one possible use for it is as radio/pod player in my workshop as it have the phone output to an amplifier i have - like i yesterday started thinking on to try for my wife to use my old FP2 in her workshop for that… Will see.
Yes, kind of. I have removed the bulged cell. It started leaking gas, so i quickly selaed it with alimuna tape, now in steel box (voltage was zero) for disposal.
To test run the phone I now soldered in a cell i had lying for another project, to where the original cell was connected in the battery pack:
This is an old type tough prismatic metal can cell, but it have a too low full charge voltage specification compared to what the phone like to charge, so I must not charge it using the phone, instead i kept the for that cell original protection board and connector you see.
The phone seem to run well, and I just now let it remove all data and nondefault apps.
It is running Murena /e/OS 2.9-t, currently chewing on update 3.0.1 from march 2025. - Seems it intend to iterate through all versions… Probably better to load last version through USB of whatever OS next user wants. Or if I keep it. Will see what I decide. Update: I found that clicking the three-dot-meny in the updater app, I could enable it to show all available updates and then select and install the latest, current, version 3.6
